*Watching a romance movie that I picked* Me: Hear me out. What if... they weren't in love.
“Trans men don’t make good music it’s all cringey ukulele indie pop” name a trans male musician who makes music like that other than cavetown
You know what? Name any trans male musician at all who isn’t cavetown
i dont want to derail from op's original point, but there have been a lot of wonderful reccs on this post, and i DO think we as a community need to do more to uplift trans men/transmasc musicians instead of stereotyping all transmasc musicians as "cringy". so, i sat down and went through every comment, tag, and reblog on this post (at least, all of the ones that are visible to me) and compiled a list, and i included some of my own favorites that i didnt see mentioned!
this list is not in any order, and i am not familiar with most of these artists, so an inclusion on this is not an endorsement of anything! if ive made a mistake anywhere, just let me know!

The end of cowboy beebop being a silent title card that just says "You're gonna carry that weight"???
Like I've watched it before. And I remembered the end and I thought it was "You've gotta carry that weight" and like. It's not so different.
But its so different.
You've gotta is like. It acknowledges the hardship, it makes it a burden for you to bear, you chose to watch, you chose to take this upon you, you've gotta. You are required to think about this end every once in a while and go damn that was crazy. Because you were there, you were a witness.
But no. You don't gotta. You're gonna.
It's an inevitability. It's not that you're morally required to think about the tragedy and the people left behind and all the steps that led us here--it's just that you experienced it, whether you think about it or not. It's not even a commentary of how hard it is, nothing about the difficulty of the weight. It just happened, and you're still here. There's no moral in it, no inherent effort, it was just something that happened to you and now you have to keep living, no matter how much or how little it affected you.
There's a weight to it, and because you experienced it, you will carry it with you like a pebble or a brick or sisyphus' boulder because that's what living is.

Crossover between Death Note and Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated but the only character we get is Sheriff Bronson Stone. And he won't back off the Kira investigation so Light tries to kill him but he writes "Bronson Stone" and he doesn't die so Light does some research and is like Maybe I got it wrong and tried again Bronson Stone but he wont die and then Light comes up with this whole crazy conspiracy theory about Sheriff Bronson Stone is lying about his identity and why and he tries to like blackmail him with this knowledge but 1. he is not and 2. he is so stupid he doesn't realize what's happening
And basically things keep happening and Light keeps thinking he's figured it out and trying to kill him.
But you can only fail to kill someone with the deathnote five times before they can't be killed so he actually just makes Sheriff Bronson Stone impossible to kill with the death note

Yeah neopronouns arent a new fangled concept gen z came up with btw
proposing a new genre of fiction called an anti-romance where u r presented w a couple at the start & the story is about their emotional journey towards a catastrophic break up
will they won't they (end this farce). there's only one bed (but for some reason they don't really want to share it). out of context eavesdropping (that paints the relationship in a better light than it deserves). chasing after them to stop them getting on that plane (and stopping them from finally being free)
nobody understands my vision i don't mean any old story where a relationship fails and it's tragic or w/e i mean a story where the intention is for the audience to root for it failing the same way u root for it succeeding in a romance. & when the relationship finally implodes at the climax of the story it's all very cathartic & everybody cheers.
like have u never wanted a fictional couple to break up so badly it hurt?
Fuck this man, actually.
When I tell you no one in my irl friend group has watched Yugioh as adults much less read the manga, but every single one of them could tell you that I hate this fucker.

I've seen a lot of posts over the years about accidentally staying up until 3 AM reading a slow-burn fic on AO3 just waiting for them to touch pinkies, but I never see posts about my AO3 experience, which is going to bed tired and falling dead asleep in the middle reading of the most intense unhinged dick-slobbering ass-pounding fuckfest imaginable. Is that just me?
@woman-respecter you get it
aroace nonbinary people you are everything to me. shout out to the bitches who just said "nah i'm not doing any of that"

Nothing gets me to stop a book in the middle more than it just being inoffensively alright.
Like I will read bad books. If it takes a sharp turn and I hate every decision I will read it with fire in my eyes and vitriol in my soul and come home and spend more time explaining to every family member what I hate than I spent reading.
I will of course read good books! I love books, and I love talking about them.
But a book that I don't hate, and that I don't even like? I can't do it. I need a book to be compelling. It can compel me to hatred or disgust or love or literally anything else but it's gotta compel me to turn the page and find out what fresh hell awaits on the next page.
If it's not compelling I put it down and I just... forget to pick it up again
