A Short Walkie Talkie Fic
Camp Averno Day 3: Walkie Talkies!
One of the instructors on the discord mentioned writing fics, so I wrote this.

“So...what’s your favorite color?”
“Wow, really deep, huh?”
“Shut up! I just wanna know!”
“... it’s gold.”
“Heh, mine's blue.”
Solar and Nova were having another late night walkie-talkie conversation, and neither of them knew exactly how late it was though.
“What about your family?” Solar asked.
“What about them?” Nova said.
“Y’know, like do you have any siblings?”
“...”
“Did I say something wrong? I’m sorry if I did I didn’t mean-”
“No you’re fine,” Nova interrupted. “I have a sister.”
“Oh, do you two get along?”
“We do, yeah...um favorite place in ANS?”
“Oh! There’s this little hidden place in the tunnels where…” Solar kept talking but Nova had spaced out, thinking about her sister, Penya. “Hey Nova, are you there?”
“What? Yeah, I’m here, sorry I got distracted.”
“I can stop talking if you want to go to sleep or something.”
“No, it’s not that… Can we just sit for a minute?”
“Sure,”
They both sat, walkie talkies in hand, staring at the stars. It was these nights, talking to each other on separate rooftops, babbling about whatever was on their minds, that both of them loved. The nights seemed so removed from the stress and angst that would come with the morning. They knew that one day their little bubble would be broken, but for now, it was the two of them, and they liked it like that.
“Solar?”
“Yeah, Nova?”
“Thanks.”
“For what?”
“For just, being you, I guess.”
