let's pretend i didn't start writing this three months ago... i tried to make this extra long to make up for my hiatus :)

also, happy pride, everyone!

"am i reading this wrong?" said in a low tone, for only the other to hear

"i saw you looking at my lips," said teasingly, to gauge the other's reaction

the fraction of a second where their faces are just close: lips ghosting each other's, taking this moment in, almost waiting for one to give in first

in the middle of a heated conversation

an emotionally charged embrace, pulling away and realizing how close their faces are, and leaning in

one brushing hair out of the other's face, the featherlight touch (or any light touch tbh)

a simple "can i?"/"can i kiss you?" because consent is important!

"can we stop pretending?"

a barely audible, "come here"

one is concerned for the other (physical injury, emotional conflict, etc), and they respond with "you always make sure i'm okay," maybe a "why?" then the air changes

"show me what you want."

one leans in and pauses, to which the other responds with some grounding gesture (a touch/"please"/a slight nod/etc) to communicate their own desire

orrr they lean in, slightly panic, and move back, to which the other pulls them in (lightly) by their arm/coat/collar/cheek/belt loops/etc

"you talk a lot." while the other is mid ramble

"you have no idea how long i've wanted to do this"

the first kiss being messy and impassioned, then the second being softer and more familiar, as though their minds are catching up with reality

"you really can't see it, can you?"

the energy shifting right as one openly glances at the other's lips

(and maybe a laugh, "what?" as the other person does this)

ꨄ︎ removing their makeup when they’re too sleepy or drunk to do it themselves

ꨄ︎ staying in a mountain cabin when the power goes out and one of them is scared of the dark

ꨄ︎ parenting a dog or cat together (very seriously)

ꨄ︎ the one who knows nothing about makeup trying to do the other’s makeup

ꨄ︎ drying each other’s hair after a shower

ꨄ︎ warming each other up by hugging during the cold

ꨄ︎ having to sit on the other’s lap because the car ride is too crowded

ꨄ︎ wearing chained bracelets all day after losing a bet

A is experienced, B is inexperienced.

Contrary to the typical version of the trope, A is shy and nervous while B is confident and forward.

B initiates the first kiss between themself and A.

They're acquaintances/strangers. A asks B out on a date. B thinks they're being pranked because they've never been asked out before.

^ except B asks A out.

B gets jealous/insecure after learning the details about A's romantic past.

B feels like they're not good enough for A because of their lack of experience.

A feels like they're not good enough for B because of having too much experience.

A introduces B to their friends, who can immediately tell A feels something for B that they never did for their previous partners.

A has always been the caretaker type in their past relationships. When they get together, B makes sure A feels taken care of too.

B is so not used to any sort of affection that they freeze when A hugs them for the first time.

B didn't get to go to prom when they were in high school, so A recreates the experience for them.

All of A's past partners mistreated them, so B goes out of their way to make sure A knows they are loved and appreciated.

^ but A's friends are wary of B, so B has to prove they truly care for A.

B has a list of romantic things they want to experience, and A is all too happy to help them.
