I’m honestly so heartbroken for every single woman that was nominated for a Grammy. Some of the best music of 2017 was released by women and only ONE was given a Grammy for it. This has to stop. And before any of you begin to say that maybe it’s just because they didn’t make good enough music to win, look back on music created by women in 2017. SZA dropped an absolutely ground breaking album that was nominated for 5 awards and won ZERO. Lorde released one of the most critically acclaimed albums in years and was only nominated for one award and went on to not even win. Kesha made a comeback album that was both beautiful and heartbreaking but also inspired so many people to speak up about sexual assault. There’s many more that deserve to be praised that didn’t even get the recognition they deserved because the music industry is still controlled by misogynistic pigs. It needs to end.
