are they're any honored warrior traditions in the garlands?
It’s one of the great strengths of the soldier academies that we have throughout the land.
See, its one of the oldest callings, one of the oldest lines of work that exist in any culture. Since the dawn of time, you gotta know that someone out there needed their ass kicked.
So there are so many warrior traditions from all these little tribes - particularly amongst the orks. A certain colour that is important, a warriors dance. A certain piece of music that must accompany them into the battle.
I’ve seen soldiers that, before every battle, break a bottle over their head and then rhythmically pound on their armour. Some of them coat their armour in chemicals that glow as the sunlight catches it.
There are other ones that come into battle blowing on a trumpet sort of a goofy
‘Waahp wah wah waaaaaaah’ tune. I guess they think it’s cool?
There really are too many to list.
Now, naturally, there have to be certain standards upheld since you’re now training warriors in an actual academy. If we let everyone who wants to be a soldier adhere to the traditions of their family or 100%, it’d be a mess.Â
So there tends to be compromise.
Some examples. There is an human tradition of smearing your armour in the blood of a freshly slaughtered auroch. This is obviously a waste of livestock, so instead their armour is painted to imitate this look.
Many Orks, traditionally fought completely naked as a sign of honour and bravery. Now, we can’t have them wandering around town in their birthday suits, so a special sort of armour was developed that covers less of the body, while maintaining a legal level of decency.
There’s too many to list.

((basically what I’m getting at is that if you play as a Soldier in the Garlands game, you can customise your armour more or less however you wish, within reason. Black? Electric blue? Spikes? Flame pattern? Bone trophies? Skies the limit. Almost))
