Question for the spider girl from BtN 013: Are there any humans willing to do commerce with your people? On the one hand they call you monsters, but on the other hand humans have been know to go to great lengths for fine textiles, and you've got silk coming out of your butts.
I am sure some of them might. Such trades are not common, though. Humans, or indeed any of the ternion species can’t be counted upon to not betray us or at least panic. We have been contacted by traders, agreed to meet at a neutral ground. But when their guards spot ours, far too often they open fire. Something about our species, perhaps the way we move seems to elicit instinctive fear in many people.
I realise it is more complicated than that.
There are many many tribes of Pajak, my species.
Not all of them are fuzzy, largely pacifistic vegetarians like us.
There are many tribes that invade towns, engulfing them in web, killing hundreds and kidnapping dozens to be fed upon by their brood later. Other tribes set traps designed to pull unwary travellers underground and consume them.
So, part of the problem, I am quite sure, is that most members of ternion society cannot tell one tribe from another.
Similarly, many Pajaks, even from peaceful tribes like my own, do not distinguish between elves, orks and humans who hunt them and those that don’t. So, some of my tribe who have lost family are hostile to them on sight.
In the event that we have silk we can spare we generally sell it to the goblins who will then sell it to humans, at what I assume is an amazing mark up.
