I want to emphasize how they white washed Naomi to make a point. The beastly, angry terrible black woman image doesn’t work if the competitor is also black. There is no foil there. Setting up a thin, blonde calm white woman is needed to drive home how terrible Serena apparently is. This is why co structures of racialized womanhood need to be examined.
