vshelby's hero worship of scott and almost weaponized innocence really make her relationship with vpyro very interesting. after she turns shes ecstatic and happy with scott, but angry and violent with pyro. she has every right to be angry with pyro, but i think the contrast is interesting. pyro landed one hit on shelby, it was only sheer dumb luck that it managed to be the killing blow. shelby then directs all of the blame for her turning at pyro. pyro is guilty, of course he did kill her, but moreso, scott is to blame to what happened to her, and he gets none of her blame.

throughout the first episodes pyro repeatedly tells shelby that he feels unsafe around scott. that he doesn't trust scott and he thinks scott is going to harm him. shelby in turn, tells pyro that she thinks scott is spooky, but cool. that admires and respects scott and would believe anything he tells her. that last part is notable to me. theres a few times where she makes it seem like she would only believe something coming from scott.

at the end, when shelby is attacking pyro, pyro calls out "what would scott think". i've seen this be misinterpreted by the audience as pyro genuinely believing scott cares and would save them. pyro is under no such illusion. they fully understand their relationship with scott. generally scott sees them as a useful nuisance, and after avids death, scott hates them. pyro never thought that scott would save them.
