Vulkan typically makes an effort to not loom over people so he usually kneels, sits down or lies on his side when discussing anything at length. Salamanders use the opportunity to climb all over him and be held (Numeon hates it)

Him being artificially disgusting is part of the character, the reason why he's such a horrible person in comparison to another psycho that grew up without human influence (Ferrus, mortball, lion) is that he actually did grow up in human society just the part where you're constantly rejected and unfitting a vermin perma hobo person. With this understandably being the cause of his frenzy - he cannot connect on a social, aesthetic, familial or status way to other people so he just tries to be right, he can force comfortable predictable interaction with the common folk by purposefully terrifying them (taking agency of their disgust and rejection) while intellectually jerking himself off that he's the most righteous victim on earth and that the stress/trials his need to be right and control others is just part of him being #1 martyr of justice so he has reason to pursue this goal. He has the vague notion that somethings wrong but either the lack of capacity or unwillingness to ask why he's like that or try to change the outcome so he just plans on fucking everything forever until the end but at least seeing the last line. I guess a reasonable option in his position.
