This idea popped into my head after watching Maul Shadow Lord ep 8. I got kinda emotional seeing him think about Savage. I wondered if he ever knew about Feral too. But here’s a piece dedicating to all 3 of them!

Imagine a scenario where Maul didn't die because Obi-wan didn't hit the second heart (I'm delusional) and Maul just Minecraft-style revives and wanders around a little bit, because I'd think that after all that, you'd kind of need some time to yourself to think, and then he hears from someone that Emperor Palpatine is dead, and when he asks who killed him, he says that Palpatine was in a room with Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker and Luke was the only one to make it out alive, and Maul makes it his mission to find Luke

And then Maul starts to have this whole, awesome image of who Luke Skywalker must be, only to see it's a moisture farming blonde twink and he just kinda stares for a minute, like, "this child killed Sidious???"

And then he's finally told it was actually Vader who killed Sidious, and he's given this whole lore drop before he pretty much adopts Luke and becomes his self-proclaimed bodyguard

Luke: "I was trained by the great Ben Kenobi--"

Maul: "The great WHO"

Dude would be so mad, he'd probably assume "I finally get an apprentice figure!" And then he learns this kid was already trained by his enemy, and in that moment, he's struggling to keep up this redemption streak
