I inherited this air plant from a good friend. It must've liked the care it received in its new home as it rewarded me with unusual flowers. First the inner leaves turned red, then 3 yellow tipped, purple, bud-like flowers appeared.

This was one of the best Nasi Lemaks I have ever eaten. The ayam goreng, sambal petai and ikan bilis were all delicious. Obviously I wasn’t the only one who thought so: this simple roadside stall in Ayer Hangat, Langkawi attracted a steady stream of locals. The price for this plate? Only 7 Ringgit, which is € 1.43, ¥ 190 or C$ 2.16.

An afternoon nap in Petaling Jaya
