On Saturday 12th September 2015, Kirsty and Marc were wed in the lovely Trades Hall of Glasgow and hired us to be part of their magical day. We asked Kirsty all about their day and their experience with the Blushbooth:

Tell us about your special day:

We chose to have both our ceremony and the reception in the beautiful Trades Hall of Glasgow. We chose our venue because we are both Glasgow natives and felt that the history of the building represented how we feel about our home city, and not to mention how stunning the venue actually is! We also wanted to use the city centre as a backdrop for our wedding photos. 

It was lovely to have all our friends and family with us on our special day and to see them all relax and have a good time. We wanted our ceremony and reception to truly reflect us, so chose to have a humanist ceremony and have personal touches throughout the wedding, including our personalised ‘Batman and Bride’ cake topper, music themed favours and table names. 

We opted to have a DJ at our reception and we couldn't have asked for better, as the music was loud and the dance floor was full. It really was our perfect day.

Why did you choose to have a photo booth at your wedding:  

We had both been to functions that had used a Blushbooth photo booth and thought this was a great, fun way to add something extra to the reception. The guestbook is also a lovely memento of the day. 

What did you love most about the Blushbooth:  

Seeing people come out their comfort zones and embrace the silliness and use all the props. It was also great to look through the guestbook after the event.

 Which guest used the Blushbooth the most:  

A few friends didn't leave the vicinity of the photo booth (hoggers), but I think all the guests embraced it.

 What was your favourite prop:

The horse head. Led to a few games of guess who afterwards!

Any advice for future brides-to-be:

Try to relax and enjoy the day. It can be busy and stressful but it really does pass by so quickly.

Another gorgeous wedding that the Blushbooth got to be a part of! Katherine & Ross tied the knot back in September 2015 at The Duddingston Kirk in Edinburgh. Here’s what Katherine said about her special day:

Tell us about your special day:

We had quite an intimate wedding, 60 close family and friends to the Kirk to see us be married and then an extra 25 at our evening reception. We loved Duddingston Kirk and Dr Neils Garden, where we had our formal pictures taken, as it's such a beautiful setting and I am local to the area and always wanted to be married there. Our day went perfectly, all our guests loved the day too and commented on having such a great time. It was just perfect and we loved every minute of it.

Why did you choose to have a photo booth at your wedding:  

We chose to have a photo booth as it seemed like a great idea for the evening and allows guests to have a bit fun and take a wee memento of the day with their own photo. 

What did you love most about the Blushbooth:  

It was a great talking point and I loved that all the guests let their hair down and really got into the swing of it!

Which guest used the Blushbooth the most:  

My husband Ross definitely used the booth the most! 

What was your favourite prop:

We honestly loved all the props and they all were used well! 

Any advice for future Brides-to-be:

My advice would be to just relax and enjoy your day. Make sure you take some time to spend with your husband during the day to just let it all sink in as it's hard to grab 5 minutes together.

2015 has definitely been our biggest year yet. Here are some of our highlights: 

The Wickerman Festival

Earlier in 2015, we launched our Camper Booth, which is perfect for events taking place outside. We teamed up with The Wickerman Festival back in July and brought our Camper Booth for festival-goers to capture their festival fun. Not only this, we used donation buckets and raised money for The Royal Marsden Charity! We even had a little listen to Lulu and Tom Odell performing live!

 Disaronno Terrace Concerts

Last summer was a very exciting time for us. We worked with Disaronno for their Disaronno Terrace events, which included live music and the opportunity to try their sour cocktails! Guests could pose in the Disaronno bottle and were given a print out to take away with them.

 WeDO Awards Winner - Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award

We won our very first (and hopefully not the last) award back in November. This was a very exciting night for us and our award now sits comfortably in our meeting room. We even had a photo booth at the award ceremony for guests to have fun and take lots of photos! Once again, big congratulations to all of the winners and the nominees.

We have some very exciting news to share with our readers. Blushbooth have won their very first (and hopefully not the last) award! Our Directors Mark and Jordan won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the WeDO Scotland Awards.

Guests attending the award ceremony could also get a few snaps in the Blushbooth.

Our award is now sitting comfortably in our meeting room. A big congratulations to all of the winners and the nominees at the awards. It was a great night and an event we’ll never forget.

If you follow our blog you will know how much we love GIFs and if you keep up to date with the internet, you will know that GIFs are EVERYWHERE. They are so popular, so much so, lucky users can even create GIF-like profile pictures on Facebook! 

We search very regularly for inspiration throughout the photography industry and we have come across one of the best ones yet. Introducing Jeffrey Lewis Bennett from Michigan, who has created gorgeous stop motion GIFs at various weddings for clients. See his best work below:

We have been off the radar for a while, we've been so busy all Summer! – it was Wedding season after all! We have a new blog post for you and what an exciting one it is!

We teamed up with famous Comedian, Jason Manford, for The Producers After Show Party. The Producers is a musical favourite which is based on the 1967 film, directed by Mel Brooks. This hilarious musical has been a smash hit in the West End and Broadway and has won 12 Tony Awards and 3 Olivier Awards. The cast and crew have been touring all around the UK throughout the year to show the public just how amazing this musical really is!

The cast and crew look fabulous in the Blushbooth, with Ross Noble and Jason himself even showing off their inner models.

Michael Färber is a Munich based Photographer, who specialises in portrait and black and white photography. We just love these photos from his project ‘Hesitate’.

We collaborated with The Wickerman Festival and brought our BRAND NEW camper booth for the festival-goers to enjoy. This was a very exciting opportunity for us as it was also our first music festival. It went down an absolute treat, the weather was oh so sunny and we even had a little listen to Lulu and Tom Odell!

Not only did we have our camper booth, but we also had donation buckets next to the booth for The Royal Marsden Charity. It was all for a good cause and we couldn’t be happier with how it all went.

House of Fraser asked Blushbooth to be part of their fantastic event in the Edinburgh store, Jenners. The booth branding looked great and special guests Tallia Storm and Nicholas McDonald even got a few snaps in the Blushbooth! We love when clients approach us with creative, fun ideas for their event. Several months ago, we were asked to source ‘diver themed’ props for one of our brides-to-be, as her fiancé is a diver. We found some hilarious props for her wedding, with the likes of a shark head, a wetsuit, a small life ring, a mask and snorkel and we even found a shark suit! Our Social Media Trainee, Kelly, loved this one in particular.

As you can see Kelly is always pleased when new props arrive…

 This went down a treat in the Blushbooth and the guests look like they are having a whale of a time (see what I did there). The bride-to-be even created her very own backdrop for her special day and we think it looks amazing!

Blushbooth teamed up with Ask Italian to help launch their new restaurant in Edinburgh last week. The Blushbooth was set up in their restaurant for customers (and even the staff!) to use. Check out our Ask Italian collage:

We had the privilege of attending a very special presentation in Scarborough for The People’s Postcode Lottery! Winners received their cheques and they even got a few photos in the Blushbooth! Congratulations to all of the winners - Happy spending!

Weddings are an opportunity to get creative.

Every so often, brides-to-be contact Blushbooth to let us know all of their exciting, fun wedding ideas. They want to incorporate the Blushbooth with their theme. Whether it’s special themed props or personalised printouts, we can have the Blushbooth customised to sit with your wedding theme.

Recently, one of our lovely brides, Emily, created her very own design to display with her chosen classy and fabulous backdrop. This entailed stunning paper swans in pink, red and white which were tied with string to add to her photo booth.

Emily even sent through her chosen logo for her printout which went incredibly well with her theme. Our Sales Executive, Laura, used Emily’s logo and designed her printout and kept to the colours chosen.

Summer is the busiest time for Blushbooth for weddings. Photo booths are so popular these days, it seems to be a must-have for the brides-to-be. Since summer is vast approaching and our calendar is now starting to fill up very quickly, we’ve searched far and wide for our favourite images showcasing wedding photography at its best.

We just love this backlit rain photography trend. Who knew you could make bad weather look stunning in photos.

This is a perfect example using the sun as lighting and a HUGE contrast to our previous image. And it’s a beautiful day at the beach, what more could you want!

We had the privilege of working with BAFTA Scotland to present our #Blushbooth to all of the guests at the New Talent Awards After Party. It’s great to see filmmakers, actors, actresses etc. recognised for their success and their creativity.

The exciting event was held at The Arches in Glasgow on Thursday 9th April 2015. A HUGE congratulations to all of the nominees and the winners. We were very lucky to be a part of it!

Last weekend, we exhibited at Scotland’s Exclusive Wedding Event at Hampden Park Stadium. Brides-to-be attending the fayre could snap some fun photos in the Blushbooth with their friends and family.

We had a fantastic deal available where the brides-to-be could have a free guestbook (normally worth £75 as an extra) if they enquired with us at the fayre.

We received great feedback from guests and exhibitors and it was lovely to see all the different services available for weddings!

We teamed up with the club night ‘Mansion’ to celebrate their 5 years of success. Our client requested the Blushbooth fortheir two events in Aberdeen and Edinburgh. We were so excited to be a part of this as Mansion nights never disappoint! They are always filled with great tunes and lots of fun and laughter.
