This game and this blog kept me a float through what I hope to GOD was the hardest part of my fucking life.

Drinking two bottles of wine every night to fill my evenings, and then trudging to multiple jobs the next morning just to make noise in every part of my day, so I didn't have to think too hard about how my whole fucking world was crashing around me, or how the emptiness of the apartment I had shared with my dying mother sufficient the very soul out of me.

For a fair long time, this game and writing on this fucking blog was the only nice thing I had in my life. Everything was ENDING, and I was going through every marching step of it ALONE.

For the smallest time, this stupid fucking blog was all I had.

A little place I could pretend like my world wasn't burning around me, and even if it was, there was someone, ANYONE, there beside me.

And even after things improved, this all remained a net positive and sincerely, permanently, changed my sorry life for the fucking better.

So I am VERY much invested. I am ANGRY. I am HURT. And I've been through enough shit in my life to know bullshit when I smell it, and I don't aim to stick around.

But I don't do so lightly. My exit isn't just a fucking WHIM.

Which frankly is LAUGHABLE in general, but clearly wrong for me in specific

I did not leave the fandom and drop the game because I didn't care.

I left because I was genuinely DISGUSTED by the actions of the studio making the game.

The game was already fairly lazy and derivative, and I always said as much during my time in the fandom. I stated multiple times the whole reason I started posting anything is cause I saw holes to fill and I had fun filling them. So the fact the studio would even THINK to touch ai was frankly INSULTING.

If you wanna claim that sps never actually used ai, that's your deal. The evidence, both past and recent, speaks against you-- but whatever. Not the first time someone ignored evidence put before them for their own narrative, and won't be the last.

But do not DARE say I was EVER looking for a reason to leave.

ME. Who spent four years writing for the fandom.

Even when the writing was tiring, and some of the asks annoying, I still found JOY in the work I did back then.

I MISS writing for the fandom. I miss writing something with someone specific in mind, hitting post and just WAITING. I miss seeing people's days made (or occasionally ruined in a good way) by my work. I miss going on my tangents. I miss having a thing to focus my creative energy at. I miss the back and forth-- sure my work in other fandoms has bigger numbers, but because the fandoms are bigger very few have a conversation the way this smaller fandom did...

So you can say what you want about the game or the studio, but do not DARE try to assign MY feelings to MY actions.

You have the AUDACITY to claim my departure was easy, or done out of spite for the thing I was writing for????

I STILL MISS THAT FUCKING BLOG.

JUST CAUSE I HAD A GOOD REASON TO DROP THE FANDOM, DON'T MEAN I DON'T MISS IT HOMIE.

But my morals as a human being in general and an artist in specific refuse to let my sentimentally for those times out weight my disgust at the flippancy of the studio I once held out hope for.

Low key Ichiban already felt awkward and parasocial enough to me-- this is...

Like--- there's still nsfw material in the game-- that feels so awkward to have it be a vtubers sona (which is basically them as far as their audience is concerned)

This feels a bit like a desperate grasp to stay afloat on sps' part, but who knows

I also know that he's stated in the past that he's anti-ai so it's like---- does he not know or????

Idk either way, this feels so weird-- and potentially like something someone will regret in the long run... <:/

Literally a huge difference between it'll never happen, and "I can't promise it'll never happen because that's dishonest"

So they've since confirmed using Ai for marketing, but all this started because of this tweet

They deleted it pretty quickly, but not before messaging a fan to justify their tweet (I don't have the screen cap on my phone, but I DO have the screen cap)

A few hours later during a stream, Mio issued this 'apology'

Where she apologized for 'ruffling some feathers' and revealed the Volks plushie as an 'olive branch' (which some have pointed out feels like a distraction from the topic at best, and low key bribing the fan in question for their silence at worst, given that the one fan to directly call them out, both publically and in dms, had been vocally waiting for a Volks plushie)

I was privy to all this info as it was happening, and sad panda seemed to want this to go away quietly I did pulled a superman cape tug gif and said hold up--

I posted the info I had about it and the tweet to reddit.

If they thought it a good enough idea to tweet in the first place, then they need to clarify that they aren't actually going through with it, instead of deleting the tweet to the public and still potentially using Ai for the games in private.

After the post to reddit started getting traction, Mio messages the fan again further explaining herself.

I'm not going to post the screenshots of that I have (yet) but needless to say; it's just more bullshit.

It read to me like 'but everyone else is doing it, and it looked so easy!' Which is uh-- yeah some bs.

So while I'm not posting the screenshots, I HAVE shown them to other people-- for context I work at an art store, and not only is everyone SUPER anti-ai, a few of them know blush blush, and pretty much all of them know about this blog.

So 'the fandom I write for regularly is going up in smoke cause of ai' was too hot a tea to not share with the class.

And literally everyone's reaction to reading Mio's follow up statement has been negative.

Special shout out to my manager who upon reading the second half of Mio's response literally said 'oh no it got worse' XD XD XD

And through all this sps has STILL yet to make any form of statement on the matter.

They are STILL hoping the issue gets ignored by the fans and we all forget.

She knew what the hell she was getting into when she tweeted at Grok. That woman is pushing 40. Stop painting her decision to collaborate with Grok, the AI that undresses women and children without their consent, made by a fucking MAGA Epstein-fanboy neo-nazi cunt, as an "uh-oh whoopsie!" moment. Have you bootlickers ever considered that the company "apologized" just to save face? This fandom is primarily run by artists, and Mio decided to spit in their fucking faces by promoting gen-AI. And your response is to defend them? Get off the ground and quit making excuses for a shitty company. This is pathetic behavior; we can do so much better.
