As I wrote in previous reblog: Maybe instead of suicide he will get killed, maybe takes Brown with him shooting him fatally too. And probably his brother become the next boss of the gang. (And I also agree with what you think about the historical one - he didn't break the rule by accident - he knew what he was doing... He just want to die on the sky in glory, not by killing himself. I've heard about the psychological term "A call of the abyss" - literally death is calling you, you can feel it and you want it. And that was probably his case. Not only he did want Brown to shot him down - maybe even try to call him in his thoughts with something like "We are mortal enemies, bonded by our twisted fate. Could you do me a favour and finish my miserable life this time for good? I will be grateful." But Australians were quicker than him...)

We may even have two endings for the story... First - the tragic one: in final duel Brown and von Richthofen shoot each other to death and they finally may join in death their: beloved (Manfred) and boss/friend/whoever Hawker was for that young Canadian (Roy). Second - the happy ending: both survive shooting. Manfred soon will realize that Boelcke just faked his death to see how von Richthofen will manage without him (and will be proud of him) and Brown may be... will join the police and will chase Richthofen and the rest of the gang forever.

Oh man I love this idea so much hwehehehehe 😈😈😈 maybe it could be an OE (open ending) or something ^^ though I’m leaning toward the regular depression (the first version)… a happy ending could happen in another AU of mine (yes I have another one, my brain is endless lmao). 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
