¡Hay Panchito!, DuckTales 2017

“What on earth are you wearing?” Donald asked, staring at the young mariachi with a raised brow.

“¿Q-qué?” Panchita asked nervously, brushing a strand of hair out of her face. Gone was her cousin’s mariachi ensamble and in its place was a dress her mamá had made. Her short hair was done partially up in elegant braid and she even had a bit of makeup on. She honestly looked beautiful in the moonlight that shine overhead and shimmered in the family courtyard fountain. “You don’t like?”

“You look… uncomfortable,” he replied, noting how she clutched the dress nervously. “You don’t look like you.”

“I, I thought… Since we are celebrating your familia’s success in defeating El Chupacabra, that you… You like girls who dress like this, yes?”

Realization flashed in his face.

“You dressed up in costume so I’d like you?”

“It is not a costume-”

“It is when you’re wearing it,” he scoffed, walking over to pick up the giant sombrero he had been given as a thank up present from the village’s mayor. He shoved it over her head with a gin. “There’s the Panchito I know. Seriously, though. I like you better when you’re not pretending to be someone you’re not. This…? This isn’t you.”

The conflicted mariachi stared at him with wide eyes before smiling widely. She nodded.

“Sí, tienes razón, mi amigo.”

“Now come on. You promised you’d show me how to lasso an apple!”

my anthro version of toodles from mickey mouse clubhouse …i’ve seen he’s gotten somewhat middlingly popular on here spaces and kinda tiktok too with objectum crowds also associated with glockenspiel (which is how i came to find out about it)!!!! and so i’ve wanted to throw my hat into the ring!!!

he’s so so helpful so inspo is from butlers, doormen, children's museum/early 2000's, kidcore tech, imagination and playful colors combined with the already geometric primary-colored identity of the historical dress and uniform of waitstaff and bellhops etc!! it’s a nice return to form with nostalgia and whatnot. i was always obsessed with the technology of the mouskedoer in the same way one of my first objectum crushes was rocket from little einsteins. same vein. how can this NOT pique my interest right.

Drew a Sketch of Toodles being there for Edgar after a terrible date and helping him recover while being so much less talkative then him. I feel like they would be best friends even though they have their differences. They're both hard-working machines.
