okay chat PREPARE YOSELVES for a truckload of words
for a little while, elle didn't really have a hobby. sure, she was a good bartender, and she liked it of course, but it was really just her job!
until she found the dusty, old piano in the back of the mlezko's garage. no one really used since kat let go of it to pursue other things. as soon as she gently touched one of the keys, she was surprised by it's unmistakable sound!
elle told kat about her new discovery, and she taught her the basics. well, all that she could still remember from her piano-playing days. but elle LOVED it! she made a habit to play it when she was done with work for the day, slowly but steadily getting better at it.
and one thing elle did learn other than playing 88 keys is that shes a great multitasker! multitasking was... oddly fun for her! she was even able to embrace the otherworldly parts of herself, using the pointy appendages on her back as extra "fingers!"
kat noticed all of this, and thought of the perfect thing for her; the pipe organ.
after a talk with the staff at their local church and a lesson or two about this grand instrument from the organist, kat took her sister along to introduce her to the "king of instruments."
the second elle laid her eyes on it, she was in awe. complete and utter awe.
after kat educated her on this instrument and left her with the organ, elle let loose.
her digital face left, digital sheet music arrived on her masks screen as the back of her striped corset unraveled, her sharp appendages erupting to assist her control of this instrumental beast.
kat has seen elle many times before, but she was seeing her.
the elenora that almost no one saw.
there was almost a lighthearted mania to elle as she played. even if her digital face is covered with the sheet music at the moment, how she moved as she operated this organ was... beautifully brutal.
of course she wasnt perfect at playing it yet, but she felt like she was connected to it. like her and the organ were one-- as if it understood her and it told her to let it all out, no matter how it comes out as.
kat watched elle play from afar for what felt like forever, watching her with wonder in her eyes, softly shaded by the protective brim of her hat.
she gazed as the sun slowly lowered, refracted light from the colorful stained glass of the church shone all over, and onto her sister.
right before elle could load more sheet music onto her screen, kat rose from the church benches and softly clapped, alluding that its time to head home for supper.
elle's digital face returned with a warm smile, her appendages retracting back into their lair of linen and lace as she hugged her loving sibling with overflowing gratitude.
elle now plays that organ every now and then, savoring the adrenaline of her newfound passion.
