I feel like this needs to be addressed. In recent months, I have lost the spark that Shadamy once gave me and, upon further reflection, I realized I was wrong. Shadamy will never, and should never be a thing. Ever. These are two polar opposite characters that don’t even have a lot of screen time together. The few interactions they do have together don’t even matter. Sega even retconned them to show how unimportant they are! Plus, Shadow is like over 50 years old. Like, yeah, he may have been only 2 weeks old and was mentally in stasis for those 50 years, but that 2 week old can legally drink guys. Plus, there’s no way he would ever be capable of being in a romantic relationship with anyone. He should only be his trauma and the battles lined up before him. He doesn’t need character growth when he has edge. Also, Amy is so annoying. She doesn’t even have any good qualities to her. She’s only the girl that’s in love with Sonic and it should stay that way. But she should never end up with anyone. We should only have the “will they, won’t they” dynamic of Sonamy. She’s fine with that.

(not to mention doomed cassunzel is Sooo pearlrose coded to me) Like pink ur telling me you had an abusive “mother” who saw herself as the epitome of perfection and saw you as a childish incapable fool and constantly drilled into you how little you mattered to her whether it was explicitly stated or not (And honestly white gives the biggest gothel Vibes but white is also very passive compared to gothel’s explicit emotional manipulation and verbal abuse whichhhhh if you think about it is kind of represented for pink too just separately via yellow and blue…..)

BUT YEAH RAPUNZEL AND STEVEN WERE LITERALLY BOTH INHERENTLY DOOMED BY THE NARRATIVE FROM FUCKING BIRTH. steven COULD have had a normal life to an extent, but the diamonds came back to escalate things and frankly even if they hadn’t steven never would’ve truly Fit In in gem OR human society. I guess though in that regard with rapunzel the only way she couldve had a better life was if she and her mom would’ve just… um,,,, Survived BUT ALSO AT THE SAME TIME BOTH THOSE THINGS WERE INEVITABLE!!!! the diamonds were gonna come back no matter what bc of pinks “shattering” so truly yeah there was just No outcome where they could’ve had the lives they deserved. THEY’RE ABSOLUTELY BOTH SUPER SHELTERED TOO like yes rapunzel knows nothing in a FAR more literal sense but like you said steven also knows jack shit about a lot of normal human stuff and has always been treated like he’s Different from other humans and felt isolated which i think we see a lot from rapunzel too in the series.

On rapunzel’s end it can be noted that we see her struggle with relationships a lot more explicitly. and her characterization overall in the series is something i have mixed feelings abt because honestly to me tts and su are like the antitheses of my interests in my head. tts is really just a silly show to me bc ive accepted that a lot of the writing Wasn’t great and there were a LOT of fuck ups, but i don’t like to linger on it negatively bc i ultimately love the show and i think there were PLENTY of examples of rapunzel’s character being handled SUPER well and a LOT of crumbs of amazing characterization which will always linger in my mind, particularly in regards to how rapunzel handles relationships especially with cass. Like rapunzel’s fight w cass in rapunzel and the great tree— it reminds me SO MUCH of connie and steven’s fight after the trial arc

it’s also imo mostly a huge representation of how steven and rapunzel have both been held on this pedestal (rapunzel being put on this whole Magical Destiny and literally being told she might have to die to get rid of the black rocks vs steven putting himself on the line to stop everyone from being abducted because he’s the one who was BORN with the gem of homeworld’s biggest war criminal) and how that puts this hero complex onto them and that their only purpose is to be a martyr which directly hurts the people who are TRYING TO PROTECT THEM and just feel like they’re being abandoned or underestimated instead.

I just. FUCKKKKK. I have a type. They both deserve to just go live their lives in a little house with their girlfriends (and boyfriend in rapunzel’s case she has two hands to me) with a little garden and their silly little pets (or singular magic pink lion) and be happy forever
