Synopsis: A few years after Rhyme and Reason enter Fair City, a horrific tragedy occurs where three teens and a monkey are captured and experimented on by a deranged mad scientist. They are able to escape due to the interference of two other teens which causes an explosion that is believed to have killed the mad scientist. Sadly, the aftermath results in the demise of Fair City's beloved heroine Wordgirl and her sidekick Captain Huggy Face. Luckily for the citizens, two new heroes rise up to take over as the new protectors along with another long-time hero. Unfortunately for them, the incident opens up to a new generation of villains, the likes of which Fair City has never encountered before. Can The Terrific Trio rise up to these new challenges all the while honoring the legacy of the late Wordgirl? "Word Up Shawn Spencer" When Shawn and Gus get invited to a Criminology Convention in Fair City so Shawn can give a lecture on psychic investigating, the last thing either of the two expect is a town full of super villains, superheroes, and sandwich people. Things get even more crazy for the duo when a well-known scientist is found dead and Shawn discovers this is Fair City's first murder victim. Shawn and Gus will have to quickly become the responsible ones in order to solve this murder as they deal with an incompetent police force and a child superhero who should have no business being involved in a murder case. Can the normally boisterous and goofy faux psychic investigator and his partner handle the shenanigans Fair City offers while trying to find a killer?

I don't know what this curse fully entails, but I think it ties into the need for The Ultimate Lesson. In "Enter the Nomicon" Randy tells Mac Antfee that the knowledge of all the Ninja's powers and abilities can make a person go crazy if they are not mind wiped after four years. I believe that is due to the influence of the Tengu. Wearing a suit made of demon feathers and basically using powers fueled by demon energy can likely make anyone go insane over a period a time. It's possible that those who are 'pure of heart' can withstand the corrupting effects of the Tengu feathers for a limited time before they develop an obsession for the ninja powers. I think The Ultimate Lesson is a method to save each ninja and purge them of the Tengu's influence mentally and physically.
