I don’t have anything else to say rn other than my shoulders hurt soooo…

Inspired by @drawnfamiliarfaces's Favourite Warrior AU & this post + @semisomnosres' adorable cat!Finja & Randy art. Here's the rough outline I have so far:

Basically, post-canon, Randy is at death's door after defeating the Sorceress (a hero sacrifices all to save the day). He's trying not to cry since choking on his blood's bad enough as it is but he can't stop thinking about the Grave Puncher level he never completed with Howard and the gravy fries he wanted to have tomorrow and the 101 things he wants to do but can't because he's going to die before he even finishes 10th grade-

Then Chase shows up. He's kept an eye on Norrisville for a while now, especially his favourite's latest successor. When he heard about the Sorceress' return, he dropped by to see if the boy could defeat her like he did the Sorcerer & he succeeds, though this time, clearly at a cost. The child's short tenure as the ninja will certainly end with a bang. Unless.......

Now, Chase is no saint but he knows the moment First hears about Randy's death he's going to crash out (so young, too young, barely even at the halfway mark-) & he really doesn't want his beau to go through all that. Randy also has potential, it's been so long since any of First's successors left any sort of impression on him & truly, he abhors waste.

So his solution? Add Randy to his Fallen Warriors Army! Unlike Omi, Randy is already First's so really, Chase is doing him a favour. Plus, when his apprentice returns, perhaps having someone closer to his age will further ease his transition to the Heylin side.

Randy, desperate & barely lucid, accepts Chase's offer. Alternatively, Chase says 'fuck it', transforms Randy & tells himself he can wing it. Either option has equal amounts of angst potential.

This time, First's alarm immediately turns to horror when Chase warps into his room with a bundle of purple fur in his arms & a tattered mask in hand.......
