Hi! You can call me Gekko. I make art, primarily for my Hollow Knight AU, named Feral PK AU, but you'll also find occasional dragon/dinosaur art or maybe even fanart from other media. I also reblog posts from various other things, so it can get a bit chaotic.
That being said, the AU is the main focus of this blog. It is a slice of life AU for my favorite characters which mostly takes place in Dirtmouth, though over time it also evolved into a personal worldbuilding and character driven project.
Just a heads up, it does stray quite a bit from the canon and many popular fanon interpretations, so please approach with an open mind! If you have any questions, check the FAQ below first and don't be afraid to send me asks about it!

Β» Since this is a primarily AU related blog, anything I say about the characters is from a headcanon lens. A lot of my headcanons are quite different from the most popular fanon interpretations, so please be aware of that before you respond, especially in regards to fandom jokes and character hate.
Β» A large chunk of my drawings and posts features the ship Pale Nightmare, so if you dislike it I would not recommend following my blog. It's the only ship I'm invested in, and while I avoid ship discourse, there are some that I find uncomfortable, particularly those between the characters that I consider family within the AU (Grimm/Hornet and Grimm/Hollow being the primary ones).

AU RELATED DISCLAIMERS/FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Β» The AU takes place after the Embrace the Void ending, and so The Knight/Ghost is not present.
Β» The events of Silksong don't happen in the AU as they do in the game. To make it fit with the pre-existing AU lore, I wrote a different story based on characters and themes introduced in canon, which is why some characters are very different.
Β» The Pale King's name in the AU is Vyrm (an alternate spelling of Wyrm that he uses as his name), though I occasionally refer to him as FPK. I would prefer if he was referred to with this name. At the current point in the AU he and The White Lady are separated.
Β» Please keep in mind that the AU originated as something I found comfort in, and it remains that way. There may be inconsistencies, I might retcon things on the go, and some things may simply not be well written. I also have no plans to turn it into a fanfic or a comic.

your hobbies are worth doing, regardless of the skill of which you can execute them. if you are having fun, enjoying yourself, or whatever else, that is what matters. no one has to be technically skilled to be worthy of doing a hobby that they like, of any sort of passion that you have.
Holly - they're resistant to cold, and dislike bright lights, so logically their favorite season would be Nightfall (the in-universe equivalent to winter). However, it also loves its garden, which unfortunately isn't able to bloom during that season, so I feel like it would instead gravitate towards early Snowmelt (since there are 3 distinct seasons recognized in Hallownest, Snowmelt is the equivalent of Spring up until the peak of Summer). The temperatures are pleasant, the flowers begin to bloom, and there isn't as much bright sunlight.
Phantom - they would also dislike the warmest season. Intense heat can affect their inner metal skeleton, which in turn can cause discomfort or even pain to the surrounding silk, so they avoid being out in the soon for too long. I do imagine they would enjoy Nightfall. The world gets very quiet once the snow falls, which helps them focus on the tiniest sounds. And with their visual impairment, the lack of sunlight doesn't bother them as much. The biggest issue would be that navigating with their longpin through snow can be a bit difficult, so they tend to stick to the shoveled parts of the town. But they enjoy it quite a bit, I'd say.
I'm definitely planning to answer the asks currently in my inbox, I'm not ignoring them! Just slowly getting through them. The biggest issue is that a lot of them ask about all the characters, and that's a bit daunting, which means I don't answer them as often, which then means I get a little rusty
So as warmup, I thought I could answer some "smaller", per-character asks. I found THIS OC questions post, which I think would be perfect for this!
If anyone is interested in hearing the answers (or even just bored haha), I'd love it if you sent me an ask with the question of choice and character you want to hear about!
I would especially like to answer things about Aika, Hornet, Lace and Phantom, as they're the ones I'm currently focusing on characterization wise. But of course, if you're interested in any of the other characters, that's also a great opportunity to flesh them out!
