if I see one more "why age verification is bad" post that doesn't even bother to mention that locking young people out of huge sections of the public sphere - literally the stated goal and primary impact of this shit - is wrong in and of itself I will simply start hitting people with bricks
yes yes biometric data privacy blah blah adults can hypothetically by harmed by this too. what about the immediate and deliberate and not at all hypothetical harm to youth. why are you acting like a potential data leak about what your face looks like, which if it ever happened would at least be generally recognised as a problem, is a more serious issue than cutting millions of people off from information and community and public expression which is happening right now in the open with large scale support
it's got the stench of fucking "banned books week" on it. thousands of adults congratulating themselves for reading books literally no one is trying to stop them from reading while doing nothing to improve access for the young people who are the ones actually having those books made off-limits to them.

the gag where Columbo pulls up to high-class celebrities’ multi million dollar mansions in his ancient beat-up falling-apart wreck of a car never ceases to be hilarious to me. he arrives with the intent of annoying the murderer into a confession as his car actively falls apart on their perfectly manicured lawn. half of the time he brings along his slobbering dog. sometimes they find him dangling from a tree or elbows deep in their garden. truly chaos goblin energy to the max
columbo episode where the murderer knows who columbo is and that he always catches the criminal and they're just stressing out the whole episode like "holy fuck how's he gonna get me how's he gonna get me" and then they turn themself in at the end and it turns out columbo was stumped the whole episode and he genuinely didn't know who did it

i havent read the strange houses manga but im fuckin dying at how every screenshot i see has the narrator dripped tf out. was that at uketsu's request. did he ask to be a pretty boy instead of a nightmare mask man, or was the mangaka just opposed to depicting him as-is in the narrative.

Elementary does such a good job of characterizing minor characters who are complete weirdos. I love you guy who gives Sherlock morgue privileges because he plays chess real good and guy who has to take his shirt off to do the really complex math
