His words were so innocent. They were pulling at all her heart strings as she continued to bend down to Lennon’s level in order to embrace the boy better due to their height difference. She may have been immortal but the blood still coursed through her veins, more so than usual, completely on edge on what she was considering doing. Would he be happy here? This hotel wasn’t meant with children in mind. He would be stuck living a life full of solitude away from the rest of the world without being able to ever go back to his family — his neglectful and horrible family. Elizabeth knew that he didn’t want to go back to them, his father, but she was good at manipulation. Was this what she was doing in that moment?
“You can have all the macaroni and cheese your little heart desires.” Elizabeth grinned from ear to ear as she ruffled his hair. It was morbid, really. How that future meal may be his last meal as a h u m a n. Pushing those thoughts to the far corner of her mind, Elizabeth turned her attention back to Lennon who was now insistent on taking off his out of season winter coat in order for her to see just what type of damage had been done to the young male. “Almost like a magic trick. I would be turning you into the magician, though, then your body would be able to heal those cuts and bruises on your own. Only once, though. You have to be careful afterwards.” That was the only way she knew how to explain the virus in simple terms without actually giving the secret away. He didn’t need to know more than that for right now, but instead, she was hell bent on the fact that she was going to make sure he was comfortable with her and the idea before there was no turning back.
Her heart sank to the bottom of her chest when his bloody arm was held out for her to take. The temptation was stronger than ever to take a taste of his pure blood, almost convinced that he would find something wrong with the look on her face as she tried to hold back. Instead of freaking him flat out with putting her lips to his arm and sucking, Elizabeth lowered her hand to wipe away some of the excess blood that accumulated around the cut before slowly bringing her fingers up to her lips and licking it clean, never once breaking eye contact with Lennon.
“I think I would say that I would be honored to have an adorable little boy just like you to spend the rest of our time here forever.”
Tears were starting to swell within her green hues as she heard the word MOMMY escape from his mouth. She wanted nothing more than to have a child of her own, after all those years, losing the own child she had the chance of having and being left with a broken heart. She was convinced he had been in the right place at the right time in order for the two of them to meet. This was fate.
“—I would love to be your mommy. You never have to be afraid again.”
With her lips already stained red from the taste of his blood, Elizabeth ran her fingers along his arm; being careful not to cause the boy anymore pain than he was already in. Maybe he wouldn’t get the chance at his last real meal after all. “Do you trust me?” She questioned, knowing full well that she would have to explain before anything happened.
“I can make all those things come true and more. We can be happy. You can live here with me forever and not have to worry about going to school and facing those horrible, horrible, people. But I have to make sure that this is what you want—” She paused, “Because I want you to fully understand that you can never go back to your father once you decide.”
