“C’mon! Lighten up!” “I don’t want to lighten up. Stop bothering me, damn.”

“How are you even friends with someone like that?” “Because they’re great to be around? Why are you being such an asshole, anyway?” 

Character A only willing to do things out of their comfort zone for Character B, but not admitting with words that they care about Character B very much. Actions speak louder than words, after all.

“You need to leave me alone.” “Mm. Yeah, no can do. You need the company.” 

The corner of Character A’s lips quirking up whenever Character B does something stupid/funny/cute, and when called out for it, they immediately purse their lips and shake their head in vehement denial of their obvious affections for Character B.

“What happened to you finding [Character B’s name] annoying?” 

Character B being the only one Character A is willing to open up to.

“…Life’s a bit better with you in it. Only slightly, though, so don’t go thinking you’re a super hero or something.”

“You guys really are an unlikely pair.” 

Person B: "...I mean, to be fair, before the accident they never really acted like a deity around me. Our life together had been mostly domestic and sappy up until that point."

Person A: "And now?"
