There’s a few ways to do it but what I do is:

1) rinse out the blood with cold water2) fill a container with hot water and oxy clean and leave it to soak overnight (I boil mine)3) put your towels/clothes in the wash and pick your pads out of the water and throw them in the wash4) throw some more oxy clean in the wash too5) put them in the drier without fabric softener (makes them less absorbent an can irritate you down there) 

You can’t hang them out to dry or leave them wet before washing them for more than a few hours because they can get moldy, esp if they have PUL in them. In order for them to not be wet too long, I sometimes leave them dirty for a few days before rinsing them out so I can wash them all at once. I’ve been told oxy clean can damage them but I haven’t noticed that myself.
