So when I first heard people talking about Nico getting Karolina back only to find that she’s been mind wiped, I was firmly against it. No angst in my good, Christian Runaway’s. However, I’ve been thinking about it more and I honestly might be into the idea. Imagine all the terribly wonderful angst that could come from it:
- Nico finally finding Karolina and kissing her
- Karolina kissing her back in a confused haze because it felt right, even if this was a total strangerÂ
- Nico’s smile slowly fading as Karolina admits that she has no idea who she isÂ
- Nico going home that night, after keeping up a front the entire day that everything was fine, and silently crying because she had been so close to getting Karolina backÂ
- Karolina peeking her head in because she had some strange urge to check on this stranger, only to see her crying but not knowing what to do so she just watches and feels sadÂ
- Nico sleeping alone in her bed, clutching one of Karolina’s pillows to her as she’s done for the past few nightsÂ
- Karolina meeting Xavin, a very attractive and nice person who appears to be her loverÂ
- Xavin would never stop telling Karolina they were destined to be together if Karolina didn’t explicitly tell her to stop and because Karolina can’t remember that this isn’t true she can’t tell her to stopÂ
- Nico watching Karolina slowly start to believe Xavin and not being able to stop her because how do you tell the woman you love that she’s supposed to be with you and not a gorgeous woman who’s dedicated her life to herÂ
- Nico growing angrier and more closed off, determined to find a cureÂ
- Nico snapping only convincing Karolina further that she’s supposed to be with Xavin and not this tiny angry girl who almost shoved the smart boy (who’s been nice to her) off the stairs
- A small part of her still wanting to be around Nico, being upset that she’s not happy, just wanting her approvalÂ
- Somehow Jonah get’s a hold of her and convinces her that the Runaways she’s been staying with are bad guysÂ
- The voice in the back of her head arguing that Molly seems like a sweetheart, Alex doesn’t seem like he wants to harm them, and there’s just something about Nico that makes her feel safe
- Jonah, his family, and Karolina facing off against the remaining Runaway’s
- Nico telling everyone to back off from Karolina because she doesn’t trust anyone else to fight her off without harming herÂ
- But also she knows Karolina’s powerful and doesn’t want any of the team getting hurt
- And it breaks her heart but she has to use her staff against Karolina, using only the gentlest of spellsÂ
- Karolina gets one solid blast to hit Nico and immediately it feels so wrong that she just stops attacking all together
- The mind wipe being lifted somehow at the end of the battleÂ
- Karolina being distressed that she’s the reason Nico’s a little bruised up and continuously wincingÂ
- Some utterance of the cliche line “I was trapped in the dark for so long. You saved me.” (i’m not even gonna lie, i live for that hoaky crap)
- Nico being so overjoyed that she can’t even saying anything, she can just stand their tearing up and staring in aweÂ
- Nico and Karolina sleeping in the same bed that night and holding onto each other tightly, scared that they might wake up and find the other gone
