“What do you get out of this?” She asked Puddleshine once it was gone.

“Get out of it?” He tilted his head. “I guess I never thought about that. You just said you wanted it, and I had it.”

“You didn’t have it, though, you had to collect all the herbs and ask people about it. I know you’re not very smart, but even you have to know that everything in this world is transactional. So, what is it? You want my friendship? You want me to write a song about you?”

“Friendship is nice,” Puddle mused, “But I don’t really need it, I guess. Friendship isn’t like fish, you can’t just trade it to get the things you want. I don’t really want anything, I guess. I’m happy, even if someone’s ship did destroy my house.”

Lunar puddles amuses me a lot so I wanted to doodle a design for him!

Thought it would be fun to design him as a nichling! I’ll leave some thoughts on that under the read more but thought it would be kinda fun for him to be extremely venomous and no one really knows because A he’s a pacifist for the most part, and B no one’s that familiar with some of the local species let alone the wide variety in nichlings.

ok so. i get being scared or apprehensive because of the historically horrible things that have happened between fans and creators in the past. safety is priority, always. with that in mind, what actually is inherently bad about creators and fans interacting and having conversation?

if we're to look at history, it's usually either malefactors or a lack of thought and care put into acknowledging certain realities of the interpersonal situation and how that influences thoughts, emotions, and actions. i feel like distancing from eachother just works to further that disconnect. so maybe instead, we be more careful, thoughtful, and mindful of our influence and influences and put effort into appropriately accounting for them?

listen, im not saying it's that simple. i certainly am not gonna come to any larger conclusion here. my point is that there has to be a better way of going about all of this. everyone thinks they have an answer, but i really don't think anyone is even close. answers come through conversation with all sides and i personally have yet to see anyone - and i mean anyone - having meaningful conversation on this stuff. how are you supposed to if you are missing major perspectives?

yknow that thing where voters don't turn up to vote because they think their vote doesn't matter, and it ends up further reinforcing stagnation?idk. maybe it comes with being a disabled trans woman living paycheck-to-paycheck in this hellish reality we have found ourselves in, but i'm just a little sick of the "that's just how it is" argument. you gotta let yourself believe things can get better, and that you have the power to do so. if you can't do that with the microcosm of Minecraft Youtube, how are you gonna help make change elsewhere too?
