𝙸𝚃'𝚂  𝙰  𝙻𝙸𝚃𝚃𝙻𝙴  𝙰𝙵𝚃𝙴𝚁 ten  a.m.  when  he  drags  himself  towards  the  laundry  room.  granted,  there  are  at  least  seventy  other  things  he’d  rather  be  doing  at  the  moment,  but  jason  knows  that  getting  laundry  done  at  the  start  of  the  day  will  save  him  a  lot  of  time  and  prevent  him  from  getting  pulled  into possible  conflicts  with  the  other  residents.  the  majority  of  it  has  already  been  sorted  and  he’s  about  to  dump  the  basket  filled  with  shirts  and  hoodies  into  one  of  the  machines  when  he  notices  movement  next  to  him.  when  he  looks  up,  something  akin  to  surprise  and  confusion  passes  over  his  features  when  he  half  recognizes  the  person  using  the  machine  to  his  left.  ‘     superman’s  cousin  ?    ’   he  says,  because  apparently  that’s  the  first  thing  that  tumbles  from  his  lips.    /  @blondeinblue​

   AN EARLY RISER — the perks of one who sleeps so little, she manages to beat the saturday crowd to the machines. by the time the "ding" of laundry room door sounds, freshly cleaned clothes are in the dryers tumbling. meanwhile, golden strands spill over hoodie-clad shoulder, and one cheek rests pressed into propped up hand. the steel maiden sits at the small table in loud room, scrawling away in a notebook, FOCUSED.    but trance is broken and head flicks around. cerulean orbs peer at the newcomer, his words reverberating in hypersensitive ears. HOW DOES HE KNOW? she can't quite place it, but something about this man's face seems familiar. there's the distant memory of a boy, captured in photos that line gothic manor's walls — even much older, his face is unmistakable.

  a laugh as corners of lips press into cheeks. he’s right, a newcomer was unexpected, but the young alien is amused by this green lantern’s energy.  ❛ aw, bummer. i really liked hal. but i guess i’ll deal. ❜   the jest rings in languid, sarcastic tone.

The faint sound of his laptop beginning its command was heard at the end of the hallway, though he couldn’t hear the last bit of it.  ❝ I already ate, Kara. This case is extremely important. Can’t bowling wait until tomorrow or something….? ❞

    a yawn as sun-caressed being emerges, golden tresses a knotted mess atop her head. she was certainly a SIGHT with feet dragging lazily, shuffling on the edges of sweatpants that are slightly too long. she is carried by a sweet smell — it wafts from the kitchen and into the narrow hallway of small metropolis apartment.   ❛ querl? ❜   her voice bounces through empty space and off mostly bare walls.    ❛ are you making breakfast? ❜  no response — brows press together, confused.    finally, she finds herself in the kitchen, cerulean gaze landing on neat display. her heart warms, smile pressing onto soft lips. she only wished the coluan was here in person, to thank for the sweet gesture. for now, she lifts her phone ( having followed to and from slumber ) to take a snapshot—

her frown deepens.
