In The Baptism of Alexandra Trese, it is mentioned that Carlos, Matt and Jimmy are the ones who continue to fight the forces of darkness in their own ways. Enrique is the only one to take on a more passive role.

Let's start with Carlos Trese. He's the oldest. Like Alex, he also went through the Balete tree trial and he came out the Verdugo. He frequently travels. But he does show up in Manila from time to time. Case in point: he's in Murder at High-Tide. And he also has a one-shot komik posted online by its creators for free called Verdugo Takutan! which was part of the Trese Bloodlines Vol. 1. It does a good job of establishing what kind of person he is-- if you thought Alexandra was tough and unyielding? Carlos is ten times that and then some. He's fucking terrifying. He and Alex also butt heads a lot, because Carlos believes in vigilante retribution while Alex works hard to keep the balance. I have a feeling he has daddy issues, too. But that's a headcanon list for another day.

That man on the left? In his grey collared shirt and glasses? That's Professor Enrique Trese and my second favorite Trese brother. He's a renowned professor in anthropology and Philippine folklore in UP. Out of all the Trese kids, he's the only one who never took up the family business-- that is, he doesn't go out and fight. He stays behind and he helps his siblings research. I also feel like he's the brother Alexandra is closest to. In the Komiks, when Alex makes it out of the Balete tree, it's the Kambal, Enrique, and Alex's Lolo who are waiting for her, not Hank. Enrique also shows up in High-Tide at Midnight, too, with Carlos and Alex. But he plays a bigger role in The Executioner's Squad when Alex goes to him for advice and research help. He takes after their Lolo Alex and it's implied that he's the apo Lolo Alex was closest too. It's really cute. You get the sense that he is also perpetually tired, which is on point for an academic like him.

The priest on the right is my favorite Trese brother, Father Matthias Trese and he shows up in Midnight Patrol, a side story about the boys of Precinto 13, the precinct Captain Guerrero heads. He's also implied to be responsible for the anting-anting the police of precinct 13 wear. They don't show it in the series (which is a bummer) but Capt. Guerrero has an anting-anting that he fidgets with a lot. Later on, he appears in the 7th Trese Book, Shadow Witness, which serves as his formal introduction. He also has his own one-shots-- two of them, both published in the Trese: Bloodlines Vol. 1 anthology. The first being "That Kind of Hunger: a Fr. Matthias Trese case" and the second, "Iunctura: a Fr. Trese and Dakila deviation story." He's a demon hunter and an exorcist. He's so calm and easy going you honestly have to wonder how he could possibly be related to a hothead like Carlos Trese. It's my personal belief that his character is based off Fr. Jamie Bulatao, SJ; a Filipino Jesuit priest who famously could see through the veil, was a licensed psychiatrist and exorcist. He's also the Father of Philippine Psychology. I went to the Bulatao psychiatric clinic all through my college years.

The last boy, the one with a scarf over his face, is Jimmy Trese. He shows up briefly in the Baptism of Alexandra Trese and is formally introduced in the Madrid Gig. He's a gentleman thief, art collector, and magic item collector. He broke into the National Museum. I think that's enough to describe his personality. He's reliable but he causes a lot of mischief.

There's another man, too, in the back next to Anton that I nearly missed-- that's Lolo Alex, Anton's father. Alexandra is named after him.
