discussion of: how despite her last two albums being audiovisual masterpieces that reference all manner of serious high and low culture, beyonce never gets associated with “art” in any real way whereas lady gaga (whose work is considerably less consistent) got grouped in with the “art” crowd much more because she’s more legible as someone who would be involved with art. that kills me. i dislike how lady gaga can shout that suddenly the koons is her while beyonce is out here creating a whole visual language for herself without getting any like…Art Cred…yaknow

Okay but really - I was treated to a manicure by The Boy’s aunt and cousins last winter, and we took along the cousins’ little girls, the youngest of whom was about 3-4 at the time. To keep her entertained while her mom was getting a pedicure, I sat with her next to the racks of polish and made her laugh nonstop for an HOUR just by reading out all the fucking ridiculous names. This kid lost her shit. They were so dumb. And so, so funny.

its wild how when ppl say ‘do your best’ they generally dont actually mean do the best you can safely manage, they mean ‘push yourself as hard as possible, beyond what youre actually capable of doing, and work to my idea of your capabilities or you’re obviously not trying at all’. shits ridic
