"I decided not to post any photos of villages destroyed, instead I wanted to show photos of everyday lives...as time progressed, more people started to roam the streets, getting back to their regular routine as if they had already moved on — it was then when I saw the resilience of the Nepali."

BLIND cinematographer, Andrew Truong, is always globetrotting and taking his photography to new horizons. Here are some of his recent captures of the Nepali people days after the devastating #NepalEarthquake.

For our latest project with Quantum Finish with Shine & Protect, BLIND was faced with a challenge: how do we highlight Quantum Finish's ability to protect your precious glassware from corrosion and cloudiness? How about creating an epic battle between the Shine and Protect Orb and the corrosive breath of a dragon?

Here's a 30-second breakdown of one of the key shots from the project:

After careful planning, we began our storyboarding process to give our team a general idea of how the project would flow.

Once we ironed out the logistics, we began the process of creating one of the most integral parts to the project: our dragon.

To bring our dragon to life, we drafted ideas for our corrosive creature with concept art. 

Can you feel the corrosive breath? 

The magic behind the dragon used a sophisticated a combination of Maxon Cinema 4D, X-Particles, and Turbulence FD. Rendered in Maxwell Render.

What do you get when you mix inspiration from manga, anime and comics with the beauty and metro-fierceness of the Honda Fit? A super-powered example that great things still come in small packages. 

We collaborated with our friends at RPA once again to create a spot for the Honda Fit that screams BOOM! POW!  

These style frames give you a glimpse into the different looks we built around the Fit. Can you feel the onomatopoeia? 

With the rough ideas worked out during our storyboarding process, the team of designers were able to build more rendered versions using Photoshop and other tools. 

Not everything in the project was computer generated. We brought in two Honda Fits and an amazing production team to capture the essence of the car that you can only get from live shots.  

Ever wonder how they shoot those car commercials where the camera pushes into the car? Well, for starters, the manufacturer has cars with no doors and detachable roofs just for this purpose.

"Ink pools that turn into hot girls dancing and skulls flying across screen." That was the cool concept that director Robert Hales conceived for this video.

Did you know there are two versions of this video? There's the version you've seen: the official video that won MTV's VMA for "Best Rock Video", and the unofficial version that was never released. Initially, Hales was working with another company and nearly completed production. However, he began having second thoughts and wasn't completely satisfied with the progress they'd made so far. Then our phone rang.

Justin Timberlake and BLIND make beautiful music together.

After the award winning success of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy”, director, Robert Hales and Vanessa Marzaroli, again teamed up to create a visually stunning music video that pulsates and vibes.

This bi-continental HSI production began with filming on location in Manchester, England while Justin Timberlake was on his European concert tour. Vanessa quickly whisked the green screen footage back here to BL:ND in Santa Monica, CA and began its transformation.

After working for 17 days straight with a team of 7 animators, Vanessa was able to create a rhythmic visual narrative interpreting the music and lyrics of contemporary pop’s leading man.

Coldplay’s “Ink” is an interactive story about a lost traveler who journeys to the ends of the world in hopes of finding his lost love. Viewers explore beautifully animated environments by making real-time choices throughout the video. With each choice, the viewer alters the outcome of the narrative and their individual experience.

BLIND wrote, directed and animated this visual spectacle for Coldplay’s fourth single of their worldwide number one album “Ghost Stories.” We collaborated with interactive specialists Interlude, to create this unique musical journey.
