After that he talks about how whenever he came to the church about his struggles, his problems were blamed on him not working enough on his faith and relationship with God and how that has a serious effect on how he viewed himself as a person and it is wild to feel like i relate so much to Dāv fkin Beal. I'm also really surprised that he seems to be deconstructing Christianity as a whole as opposed to Bethany's flavor of fundamentalism.

It could be, but Jill posted her video months after Tim and Heidi shared theirs which feels like she'd be in the clear to post about it. It had been announced for 4 months by the time she posted her video.

Overall I think you hit the nail on the head but let's examine:

I don't hate it at all!! I don't know why we need so many coffee signs intermingled with the Christmas decor but hey, compared to Jill's this is passable. I'll give it a solid B.

Summary:

Jinger chose not to be apart of the doc. She did not do it because of little to no editing power. When she was asked to participate, she already was or was thinking about writing her book (unclear). She was also concerned that it wasn't a Christian production/ that there would be no redemptive or balanced quality. She wanted true Christianity to be shown.

They watched pretty much the whole thing in one night.

Jinger likes how they showed how someone could get wrapped into it. She said they captured the isolation well. She was impacted by the victim stories and so much truth was shared.

Jeremy said one of the most powerful lines was "what they feared the most was our voice" or something to that effect.

Jinger didn't love the conclusion of the doc. It was lacking in an answer of those harmed. There is no hope of where to go. She fears it does not show or encourage "disentangling". They were however not expecting them to be the church.

Jeremy said they nitpicked a couple times on some of Gothard's beliefs that were just basic Christian teachings.

1) the shirt says “hella worthy” - the cringe is too much (on top of the brand insta bio saying “in the streets but not of”. Like pls stop)

I know Jill has done a few pretty heinous "renovations" in her day but this is so BAD

Those white cabinets were FINE and she went through all that trouble just to make them look 20 years out of date with that wall color, not to mention that backsplash that goes with literally nothing
