As much as I would like Duke thomas to be a part of as much bat family content, i think it's also important to have him being independent. Having Duke have a comic run where he gets to be his own character (and maybe his own set of villains who knows) and not reduced to a member of the batfam would be far more interesting. He's not confined to the moral code of batman. He has similar ideals to him but he's flexible and much more radical and open about his distrust from the system having been failed by it and batman. He's much more likely to fight a bunch of cops than to work with them. Even though he did end up becoming a part of the we are robins movement, he hesitated because he didn't want to become another pawn in the system that barely addressed the problems of the disenfranchised in Gotham.
Also he quite literally stated that he doesn't need batman as his knowledge of the city and his upbringing inform how he goes about doing vigilante work
He's similar to spiderman in the sense that he's the neighborhood vigilante but his reason for becoming a hero stems from neglect he and others like him experienced because heroes like Batman don't know what it's like to grow up in poverty or be a victim of police brutality everyday.
He can't be the hero for Gotham's overlooked if he has to stay within Batman's parameters. Not saying he shouldn't be a part of the batfam but a lot of batfanon (and canon) content feel like he's shoehorned in because they're overcompensating for the fact that they don't know anything about him or don't know what to do with him (cough wfa cough). Considering the times his feelings of distrust towards law enforcement were invalidated multiple times by members of the batfamily, he should be a lot more distrustful of them than how he is written in canon regardless of how forgiving he is.
MF I WANT A SIGNAL RUN SO BAD. If Nightwing can have multiple successful ones then so can DUKE
This story should already have a continuation that's ongoing. Getting to see the supernatural through a young day walker's pov would be so dope, and seeing what kind of person she becomes and how that changes due to her relationship with Blade and the friendship with Miles Morales.
Now onto her bestfriends, I love the way they were written and how they support her. Also, I love how distinct all three are visually and in personality, but we also need more showing of how the dynamics shift when not all three are together. Now I'm not the type to participate in shipping cause itβs not all that important to me, but while reading this story, I got two vibes from this trio it was either strictly friends or it was a polyamorous vibe, also I was thinking why not have Jayden be aromantic and Rebecca asexual . In in any case these three need to show back up with the other two gettin some kind of upgrade via learning to fight the supernatural or becoming creatures also.

After reading this story, I wanted and still want more deep-space adventures with lanterns. experiencing a very non-earth story was incredible. Seeing different species and their cultures/behaviors be viewed from the outsider's view in more stories would be so cool.
Now what I really would want to see is how more planets could view different color lanterns, especially with green lanterns being the most known and encountered. Imagine a starphire is chosen on a distant planet and they have to figure out how they should navigate because how their species handles the concept of love, even trying to understand what their goal should be since the G.L are the "hero", "peacekeeper." Then maybe on the sister planet they have a person who could be the equivalent of an actor, but gets a red ring and their life is derailed cause of this. Then, seeing how these two interact, seeing the path they walk now, and stories like this could help expand on the lore of each color when it comes to possible customs, since they are learning on their own how to use the power, plus strengths and weaknesses.
I love the idea of Batman Inc so much, there are so many perspectives that can come out of this, from the conversation of secret identities to how to handle different scenarios when in the midst of the mission. Most of all, a lot of these characters should get a mini-series that could become ongoing. Seeing how places outside of america have their own heroes and how they work. Even imagining bat-family members working with batman inc members like The signal and Nightrunner would be cool to see.

In recent time I've seen a lot of people realize the dynamics they idealize for the bat-family tend to be dynamics that exist within other hero families more explicitly. I also bring this up mainly due to the fact that the complexity within the B.F dynamics is either left behind or is flattened.
What I enjoyed most about this comic is that the wall between Bruce and Damien falls down and the two learn how to be with each other beyond the masks. A lot of the times the family aspects of the bat family is only ever shown sparingly or is simply dialogue. This comic showed both even the growth of these two's connection and what could spread to the other members which could show the dynamics that are regressed or left to the wayside.
This isn't to say use that growth to make the bat-family just like the others and lose the complexity that would make them stand apart. I believe overall the B.F should get along but it should be apparent as readers that each member has their preferred member or members to be around even seeing pairings when larger number of them come together. It could highlight how the B.F started, how it has grown and how it has shifted with new members joining even getting perspective on Bat-family vs extended family going onto Batman Inc.
We should see more comics like Dawn of DC Batman and Robin where we get to see the critique of not just batman but also who he's working with or whatever variation of team ups with the members. There's lots of dialogue and things you can take into account when you look at the history of Gotham there's lots to work with.

Bumblebee and Guardian are so underrated as characters and as Titans. They are just cool af, and I'm glad they're a black couple that's lasted so long, granted that may be due to how underused they are, but I hope they can get some major love.
They for sure should have shown up in Titans Academy, and I would have loved them to be the ones Bolt (Alinta) confided in about her situation.
Also, I'd love for them to be seen as legends and people, young black heroes are inspired by when becoming heroes, seeing that they are the first black Teen Titans and are a black couple who are heroes.
An interesting thing I'd love to see in a story led by them is the current state of their dynamic, seeing that she's out fighting and adventuring but he's a retired hero who's a musician who also is an at home dad. Then also seeing the layers of parenting they go through as a hero and retired hero parents.
Duke thomas, The Signal (one of my faves)- Day crime fighter and former leader of we are robin. Tanya spears, Power Girl- Super genuise, legal owner of the name power girl, super rich also.
I've kinda viewed these two in a similar lens and see that they hold similar positions within their specific groups (batfamily and superfamily).
The two of them becoming super friends and coming together not just in their differences but their similarities. Plus more black characters should be shown to be friends and I think they would be perfect especially since the two of them are left on the side lines andand neither of them really have been shown to have connections within the outer hero community.
Power girl was apart of to seperate teams yes but she wasnt relly given the chance to really show friendhsip with them. Signal was in a group of kids who he may call friends but only one lasted and two betrayed him and the others are either locked up or just gone, he was also on a team full of adults that included his sister cassandra bat girl.
They deserve to exist within the community of heros

For a while, I have had this idea that Nubia and J'onn would be really good friends. J'onn being the alien super hero that isn't as palatable as superman but is also a hero who doesn't get to be in the lime light, Nubia the reborn soul that stood at dooms door who became queen.The both of them not being center stage in crime fighting/ adventuring is a missed opportunity. I feel like they could relate to each other in some ways especially with their previous interaction in "Nubia Coronation Special", I see them both learning and navigating the world outside their bubble even the both of them going on adventures beyond where they start. Not sure what I'd call it maybe "The Amazon and The Martian"/"Adventures of Nubia and J'onn" or they'll be a new "World's Finest"
I'd for sure see them learn how the roles they carry inform them on their hero work. J'onn's title as the martian manhunter. Nubia from Guard to queen. Even possibly see them get to be more themselves outside the confines of earth
The culture of a black hero, that's what the two of them talked about and how they have to uphold it while also making sure they don't have a bad day. Which I do wonder how do the hero's keep the culture goin when they're apart of these white majority groups and don't get to connect with those that look like them as much as they'd like.
To be a black Hero has so many layers to it that never gets talked about especially when you're not seen as able just as much as your white counterparts. Things like this shouldn't just be confined comics that come out once a year.
Also where are the groups/family of hero's that are black or even black majority. Same goes for non black POCs. Also the idea that Duke knows that if ever did even a "Fraction" of what Jason has, he wouldn't get any bit of grace that Jason has gotten. This isn't to say Bruce is racist but to say that Bruce has given Jason immense grace for his actions despite anything he may have said and done in the past. This is reflected in life too, whites in powers will be harder on the marginalized than whites when the same actions are taken. I do believe he would be harder on Duke especially with him being also being a meta.
In Conclusion
Duke and Cassandra personalities complement each other in many ways and because of that they connect more to each other than the others in the Bat family.
Within them both of discovering that they both are aro-ace, I believe they both would work together to overcome similar challenges but also show each other how to overcome or at the least start the work that's needed to work through their personal struggle with being aro-ace as a person and as a hero.
The reason for both aspects is because even outside of comics and media it's hard for many aro-ace to be heard and seen within the queer community and simply the individual's personal group(s). When strangers come into play it an become even worse.

For Cassandra, a bit of this comes from my friend since they're more informed about her than I am, but I do know there are lots of fans who have seen her as a lesbian who also dates Stephanie. I'm not a fan of the bat family members dating each other and I'll leave that there.

Cassandra has had a long theme and story of coming into her own like many of the members of the bat family but for her I believe she has long figured out who she is as a hero but who she is as a person is yet to truly be explored. Her and Duke have this in common, which is why I think they would come to a similar conclusion of being aro-ace.
For her I believe once she looks at how she's built connections and what all her established connections have gone through, the one relationship she's had was like. I think it would be easier to accept that the concept of dating is not for her but she would struggle with how she would build future connections with those that don't understand aro-ace or who isn't.

Continuing off my last post, I think Duke and Iz would more than likely reflect on their relationship, attempting to see how they move forward. On his own Duke would wonder maybe this new revelation comes from how he is immortal but being truthful with himself knowing this isn't just a part of him but is him and not a byproduct of his powers. Will he and Iz flourish or will they separate, how does the immortal light of Gotham build a deep connection? When or if he does how will it look? Maybe he shares immortality with Cassandra or he learns what connection means for himself when moving through the generations of heroes and the generations of Gotham.
In the writing of DC comics, I can see Duke and Cassandra both being aro-ace and exploring what that means to build connections with others and see how that deepens their own connection. Overall giving more aro-ace representation.
