It is our community and ongoing supporters throughout the years that make “Blend The Femme” what it is ✨ You all killed it with us and left us with such a memorable night & experience! The rain could not stop us! We loved seeing all the old faces - it truly did feel like a reunion. And we also loved meeting the new ones! Happy Pride Month beauties 🏳️‍🌈🌻 Remember: Being your true self is a beautiful thing. Being free to be who you are is a privilege to some and should be a basic human right for all. Authenticity can be rare and we crave for people to stand up and be seen day after day rather than following a “trend” year after year. Pride should never be a trend. You are what you do not what you’ll say you do. These are peoples lives, this is our lives. Those who have fought before us, who have died for us, who have rallied and rioted for us, we salute you and your fight continues in those who stand up, speak out and live their truth despite hate, negativity and abuse. Those silenced by fear, we will scream until you are heard. Please know that you are not alone. ”Pride was not born of a need to celebrate being LGBTQ+ but our human rights to live without fear of persecution. So for those wondering why there isn’t a straight pride, be thankful you don’t need one” Pride allows us to feel equal, to celebrate love in all its forms and express who we truly are, with no fear of being judged. In the age of the internet the world is flooded with artists that people would have never seen before. This is good and bad. Artists who had skills and would only be known regionally can now be known broadly. But there are now so many artists vying for attention it’s easy to get lost. . . Here’s how you can help your friend the artist: 1. BUY THEIR WORK: That’s huge. Find a price point that works for you and snatch up an original. 2. TELL PEOPLE ABOUT THEM: word of mouth is one of the artists’ best friends. If you really love their work share it with others via all your platforms or over coffee. 3. ENCOURAGE THEM: there are days trying to be an artist can be hard(especially if you haven’t “made it” yet and art is your sole or primary income) 4. PATREON: ask if your favorite artist has a Patreon Page. Patreon allows you to be a patron (a financial backer) for your artist’s work for as little as $1 a month. (And usually with some sweet perks) 5. GO TO MUSEUMS AND SUPPORT ART ART SHOW LIKE BTF: the more we all appreciate the arts the better. Seriously. Art shouldn’t end on the internet art should also be experienced. 6. BECOME FRIENDS WITH AN ARTIST: find out what makes them tick. Get wrapped up in their life a little bit. Who knows, you just may inspire their next masterpiece.
