I saw the cat in the hat movie trailer and hated it, So here's A RANT about that.
This angered me beyond comprehension and I can explain exactly why.

This movie trailer is SHIT. He didn't die and have his art turned into slop by his money hungry wife selling the IP to anyone who would pay for it just so this scp of a misinterpretation of a partial representation of Dr Seuss to appear. Yes, The Cat in the hat is supposed to represent a part of Dr Seuss as a person. This kinda is disgusting. This feels like using a dead person's voice and manipulating it into something they would despise. His worlds and characters becoming child slop. His stories becoming nothing but fart jokes for small babies.
And if you don't know, Dr Seuss has stated he doesn't write for children, he writes for people. His work being turned into something specifically only for children misinterprets his entire reason for writing and creating in the first place.
If you don't understand how drastic this misinterpretation is, read the original book or watch the tv special.
I don't care if it seems miniscule to you. This is a man's influential art being misinterpreted. This is an artist's work being turned into slop. I don't care if it seems childish to somebody, it's really sick.
Dr Seuss was really strict with adaptions for a reason, while he was alive he wouldn't let a single soul misinterpret his work. And in the modern day it's easy to understand why with this coming soon.
He protected his art tooth and nail and it still ended in this movie being worked on. That makes me genuinely disappointed.
