Youβre not sure if youβre on a beach in 1979, a therapy session in 1994, or a bedroom in 2025 with salt in your hair and static in your brain. Thatβs The Probiesβ trick: they write songs that shimmer like heat hazeβbright, dumb, and devastating.
On paper, 'The Final Wave' is textbook power pop: jangly guitars, a melody that couldβve been stolen from a lost Big Star demo, and a chorus that begs to be shouted from the back of a van with the windows down.
