It’s been a year since I got my ao3 account and posted my first fic

So let me tell you a bit of my story lol

I’ve been in this fanfic world for 5 years now, I was just a kid when I found out of wattpad XD but I always read and I’ve never thought about actually writing a fanfic, and that’s bc I was in big fandoms that had millions of fanfics.

When I found out of solarballs, naturally I went to ao3, just to peek. But there was almost nothing, nothing comparing to other fandoms. I was sooo hungry for more that I just had to sit down and write!

I wrote a bit in private, and I thank the gods that I didn’t post bc omg it was bad. But eventually, mid breakdown, I got my ao3 account and posted one fic. It is not my best work, probably my worst, but it really gave me the courage to continue, especially the kind comments <3

Since then, a year has passed, and I wrote 13 fics in a total of 108,598 words. Not to mention my WIPS! I have about 4 WIPS that I do pretend to post eventually when I finish! (About 7k words)

I’m still shocked by this number. 100k words? I used to struggled to write 500 words! How could I write so much like that?

And well, that is bc I found a new hobby, a new passion. I love writing, and I love knowing that people are reading it. And all of it was bc of all you kind people that took your time to read my fics <3

For that, I have an immense gratitude for all of you! I can’t believe how much this account has grown. And even tho I’m still a small writer, I’m so happy and grateful for all comments and kudos <3

Thank you so much for this whole year. I know my posting schedule is horrible, especially now that I’m a senior, and for that I’m so thankful for your patience.

Let’s talk about the flaws of Neptune’s writing!

This episode gave me a bit of inspiration about solarballs so yep! Back to the fandom I guess

First of all this is my perspective of him! Please share if you disagree or agree with any point!!

Neptune is… a rather strange and interesting character. I need to say that he’s not my fav, but still I like him. I’ll try my best to read him well

Neptune is kind. There’s nothing to discuss about that. He’ll do anything for his friends, he wants to see them happy, and wants to just have fun! He’ll never mock someone for who they are and will accept them, no matter who they are.

The show made his personality very specific, very… flat for my taste. I thought that Neptune in the past would be more different, but he’s the same as always! Just a bit more sane.

The first flaw that I see is that the writers should’ve explored more his descension. If in the present, he’s this crazy planet that disappears all the time and had lost his mind, how was he in the past? To have Uranus and Saturn notice his craziness now, he should’ve been different before. But all I see is the same Neptune from before. Present and past, they have the same personality. How could he gone bonkers if he was already bonkers before??

The only episode he was different was on “The first planets - part 1”, which we see him more aware of his surroundings. But after that, boom crazy Neptune is back, just as the present.

Another thing I noticed is how the writer push too much Neptune’s innocence. It’s getting way out of limits his cheerfulness. As for example today’s episode “After the crash - part 1”, Neptune seems too nonchalant about Theia and Proto’s death. I mean, no one would ever say wow that’s so romantic about a death? Sure, Proto and Theia’s death was in an intense love story, absolutely beautiful in my opinion. But still, a “oh I’m so sorry for the loss” is the minimum?? Not a happy ahaha that’s so cool

I really don’t understand Neptune’s swing of personality. Bc when it’s about his moons, he’s panicking, but when it’s not about him, he’s like meh idc

Neptune’s character has SO MUCH potential, but it’s just being wasted. I was really hoping that Neptune would be more of a rounded character, but in the end he’s just as flat as the others.
