#when they started on the road of downloadable games i believe it was the head of Playstation who flat out said #that the point was to kill the share or resale market and so even physical disks they wanted to lock to specific accounts #and there was a huge negative PR backlash until they walked back the disk registration part #and people shut up about it at least at that big level and look where we are now #they kept marching that way no matter the PR crafted apology and are still exactly where they wanted #because how dare a game they can make $90 off of be able to be handed to a friend to play via a disk #and remember back when $50 games were controvercially expensive

Me when I contact IT and tell them yes I restarted and followed any instructions I could but computer still angry and IT says they are escalating this because it is an actual issue: I am getting a good grade in service desk ticket. Something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve.

#had to send a ticket to IT today over this machine in my edit bay beeping and I was like #IT'S NOT PLUGGED INTO ANYTHING IMPORTANT THAT RACK HAS BEEN OBSOLETE FOR THE 12 YEARS I'VE WORKED HERE #CAN I JUST UNPLUG IT #and they were like 'we don't know it might be doing something though; what is it? what is it plugged into? what do those devices do?'#even though again i told you #IT'S NOT PLUGGED INTO ANYTHING IMPORTANT #It was a backup battery type thing that keeps the computers running if the power goes out #but it's never worked #and now it's beeping every 2 seconds #then a 4 second pause #then back to the 2 second beeps for 6 rounds #and driving me insane #they're going to send someone to take a look at it sometime in the next 3 weeks #i unplugged it myself problem solved #no one has noticed

#when i had my surgery they stitched up all 4 incisions internally- muscle and skin- with dissolving stitches #i knew this but my wisdom teeth also had dissolving stitches and it wasn't a big deal #but just touching my stomach today i have felt TWO stitches pop internally #and it doesn't hurt at all like i feel it with my finger but not anywhere else #and yet it's sofucking disturbing that i nearly had a panic attack #and now i'm scared of touching my abdomen at all #I'VE NEVER HAD DISSOLVING STITCHES IN A SQUISHY AREA IT NEVER OCCURED TO ME THAT THEY MIGHT JUST SNAP INTERNALLY #when they're in your gums they don't get jostled around at most you have a long string in the back of your throat
