About my WIPs:

Black Star Project- This is the overall project that I’m working on. A science fantasy series that takes place on the fictional world of Midgarde. Expect a lot of influence from various mythologies to pop up here.

World of Midgarde- This ties into Black Star Project as a guide to the setting of the story, and the project that takes priority at the moment. The universe of Black Star Project is expansive and needs five volumes to explain in detail.

Mythos- This is an ongoing side project in relation to Black Star Project and World Of Midgarde. As the title suggests, World of Midgarde: Mythos is a collection of tales from the World of Midgarde. Rather than a single installment, Mythos will run in seasons alongside regular installments of World of Midgarde and Black Star Project. The first season is standalone.

Hi. It’s midnight as of writing this post and I have a migraine. Isn’t that fun? So, why did I enter a hiatus? Well, there’s two reasons. The first was I was working on a request for someone in my family. I expected to get that done pretty quickly and get back on my ref sheets but then... well, the political situation in the United States.

So what was meant to be a brief hiatus became a month-long hiatus in protest against the ongoing trans genocide in the US. I’m happy to say we’ve made some pushback against transphobic legislation thanks to the federal courts but I already know what the outcome will be if this makes it to the Supreme Court. Which is why I will not stop fighting.

I don’t normally do these kinds of posts on this blog and usually leave real-world topics to my main blog @captain-crackship. However, right now is a scary time for queer people, trans and enby folks especially.

For the month of June, I will be extending my hiatus and will resume normal activity in July. I still have another three ref sheets to do before you get to see first looks at the Prototypes, but those will be put on hold for the moment.

In addition, as stated by my main blog, my icon and banner will be blacked out during pride month and my title will be changed to “No Pride in Genocide” in protest to the transphobic and genocidal legislation being passed in the US, UK, and elsewhere.

It really feels like for every two steps forward we make as a society, we end up taking three steps back.

This is supposed to be a fun little sideblog where I talk about my science fantasy project that I’ve been working on since November 2018 but with everything going on I feel the need to make a point of where I stand. Fascism has no place in the World of Midgarde, and it most certainly has no place right here on Planet Earth.

I’m sorry to inconvenience you if you’re looking forward to seeing the Prototypes. Having to delay them further is frustrating but the lives of trans and nonbinary people in the real world are more important than pixels on a screen.

Resident Aliens:

Aesir - Tall draconic humanoids responsible for the cycle of life, death, and rebirth, maintaining the engines of the afterlife, and governing the Cosmos.

Vanir - Tall felid humanoids created by the Aesir to watch over Midgarde, observe its native life, and protect it from outside threats.

Valkyrie - Tall humanoids that look like a cross between humans and elves.

Elves - Humanoids of medium stature with sharp features and pointed ears.

Humans - Humanoids of medium stature with rounded features.

Dwarves - Short, stocky humanoids with blunt features.

Orcs - Humanoids of medium stature with strong, angular features.

Trolls - Humanoids of medium stature that look like a cross between elves and orcs.

Androids - Synthetic humanoids of medium stature with doll-like features.
