Your boyfriend was old.

Well, not that old. He had a good twenty years on you, but it never bothered either of you.

You met at a DSO conference around a year ago, and clicked right then and there. It started with small talk—coffee, actually. You’d grabbed the last cup in the pot, and he’d given you that look. Half amused, half tired.

“You gonna share that?” he asked, voice low, a little rough around the edges.

You remember smiling. “Depends. You gonna ask nicely?”

He huffed out a quiet laugh at that. And just like that… it was easy.

Now here you are, laying in bed together, cuddled up against each other as you scroll on your phone, watching silly TikTok videos.

Leon’s arm is draped over your waist, his hand resting warm against your stomach, absentmindedly tracing small patterns through the fabric of your shirt. He’s half paying attention—glancing at your screen every now and then—but mostly, he just seems content being there.

You giggle at something on your phone, the sound soft and a little breathy, and tilt the screen toward him.

“Look at this one,” you say.

He squints slightly, leaning in just enough to see. His chin brushes your shoulder.

It’s some dumb video—someone showing off a collection of those little labubu figures, lined up in rows like they’re worth something.

Leon watches for a second, then exhales quietly through his nose.

“…What am I lookin’ at?”

You laugh, nudging him with your elbow. “It’s a collection. They’re cute.”

“They look like they bite.”

“That’s the point!”

He hums, unconvinced, but there’s a faint smile tugging at his lips anyway. His hand tightens slightly at your waist, pulling you a little closer against him like it’s second nature.

You scroll again, the soft glow of your phone lighting up both your faces in the dim room.

After a minute, you glance over at him. His eyes are heavier now, blinking slower, but he’s still trying to watch whatever you show him.

You tired?” he asks, voice low, a little rough from the quiet of the room.

You shift, sitting up slightly against the headboard, turning to look at him with a small grin.

“No, not really,” you say. Then, teasing— “I bet you are, old man.”

You laugh, already knowing what’s coming.

Leon huffs, brows pulling together as he looks at you. “Excuse me?”

You’re giggling now, shoulders shaking a little as you look back at your phone.

“I’m just saying—”

“I’m not old,” he cuts in, and there’s that tone—half offended, half amused.

Before you can say anything else, his hand finds your waist and he pulls you down against him, quick and easy like it’s nothing. A small yelp slips out of you, immediately turning into laughter.

“Leon—”

He doesn’t let you finish. His lips are on you—your cheek, your jaw, the corner of your mouth—kissing you over and over, messy and playful.

You squirm under him, laughing harder now, trying to push at his chest. “Stop—!”

“Say it again,” he mutters between kisses, voice muffled against your skin.

You shake your head, still giggling, breathless. “No—no, I’m not—”

“Yeah?” he murmurs, pressing another kiss just below your jaw, slower this time.

Your laughter softens, but the smile’s still there, your hands sliding up to his shoulders, gripping lightly.

“Not so funny now?” he adds quietly.

You just grin up at him, a little softer this time. “…maybe a little.”
