I’m Blackout (They/Them)! I’m a 19yo digital artist who also has a passion for creative writing and natural science. Most of my artwork is digital, and I specialize in drawing dragons!

I’m not taking commissions; I’m focusing on personal work for now.

About my blog:

I plan to post here whenever I have art or other stuff to share. I’ve been slowly trying to get back into the Wings of Fire fandom after barely engaging with it for years, so you’ll likely see some WoF-related art from me.

That said, most of my creative energy has been going into the huge writing/worldbuilding project I’ve been working on for the past several years, titled The Divine and the Dragons. A lot of my art will probably have something to do with it. It’s an existentialist fantasy story about dragons chosen by a deity to help protect the balance of life. I’ll likely share lore and story progress on occasion. You’re also free to ask more about it if you’re curious! ^v^

• I intend to keep my blog free of political/highly controversial topics, since I want this to be a space where others and I can get away from all that, though I acknowledge it’s importance.

• I also intend to keep this space positive in general. I’m just here to have fun and share the weird things my brain comes up with!

1. The dragons are actually just aliens that happen to look like (and call themselves) dragons.

2. The dragons live on a habitable moon orbiting a gas giant, and the moon has its own moon (submoon) orbiting it. How does this work? Idk, math I guess.

3. You can live without a soul and it has zero negative effects (for you).

4. Aether is real, but it’s not what you think.

5. The Great Filter theory is (one) correct solution to the Fermi paradox.

6. The Grim Reaper exists and canonically swears.

7. The gods are unfeeling eldritch abominations with limited free will from a higher dimension.

8. There are regions scattered throughout reality wherein the laws of nature break down in traumatizing fashion.

9. The Big Crunch is canon.

Perpetually fixed in the skies of Ocelium is a gas giant cloaked in swirling blue storms. Called by the name “Omen,” this planet was once thought to reveal prophecies through the shifting of its colorful bands. The light it reflects is bright enough to conceal most stars during the night, and thus, only in dreams can one witness the constellations and a fully illuminated Omen at the same time.

Super in love with how this piece came out! I quite enjoyed the process, and it was especially fun to paint the gas giant. The galaxy was a bit tricky to figure out, but I got there eventually. I absolutely love using the color blue in my art (it’s my favorite).
