Sanji blinks and then starts cackling as Aya smartly points out that he already is a notorious outlaw. While he takes pride in being a pirate, especially under the flag of the Straw Hats, he tends to forget that he is considered a criminal when he hangs out with sweet and unassuming Aya. "You're right, haha, you are right, as always. But being a cowboy is a whole different thing than being a pirate!" He makes a sweeping motion with his hand as if to wipe away Aya's 'wrong' assumptions about what it means to be a cowboy, even though he is just making it up as he goes himself. "Just ask Usopp and Luffy, they have that down to a science." Aya has probably read more cowboy stories than his captain and sharp-shooter have made up in the weird space that was their tiny brains, but he did not know anyone more obsessed about that stuff than his crewmates. The partner outfits that Aya has chosen have pants for the girl as well. A novelty, really, between all the skimpy outfits that seem to be the norm for the female part. Not that they don't look good on anyone wearing them, but his little sister wants a costume with a skirt and preferably not one that barely covers her buttocks. She asks for his help in locating a good one and they both dig into the racks. It's either mini skirts, hot pants or some other highly sexualized version in between. Sanji frowns as he hangs back the fifth outfit that doesn't meet the requirements. "I thought you women always had such a huge selection of clothes to choose from-...ah! How about this one?" He beams as he finds a nice cowgirl dress with a belt and a cute cow-patterned vest. The flecks of white and black are repeated down at the hem of the skirt with cute little frills hanging from it. It reaches down to her shins.
Aya snorts, the idea of dragging Luffy and Usopp into this amusing her. The duo had a bad habit of coming up with outlandish stories they would insist were true. Knowing them, they'd claim to be famous cowboy-pirate outlaws somewhere. Both of them were just as much goofball as they were pirates, but still Aya found it endearing.
His comment about women's clothes make her laugh softly - Aya knew all too well just how difficult it could be to find clothing that she liked. This dress was too short, this one was too sheer, that one couldn't even be considered a dress at all. It seemed never-ending, but it was something Aya had long gotten used to.
"I, um, yeah... most women's halloween costumes tend to barely cover anything at all." She grumbles, but her annoyance doesn't last long when Sanji pulls out an adorable costume from the collection. "Oh! I, um, that's perfect!"
Closing the distance, she reaches out to take the costume, holding it up against herself to check the length. It looked like it would be perfect - just her style, adorable, and still a fantastic match for Sanji's own costume. "It's, um, it's adorable - we're going to look amazing at the Halloween festival." Maybe they could even enter a costume contest or something? The only thing they were missing were actual horses. "Do, um, do you know what the others are going as?"
Sanji's chest swells when he sees that Aya likes the particular costume he has suggested to her. It will suit her so well. He smiles, that big toothy grin of his. "With you looking so stunning we will steal the spotlight for sure!" Anyone standing close to her will be elevated by her presence alone. Curious as she is, Aya wonders what the rest of his crewmates has chosen for their outfits this year. Sanji can only shrug and shake his head. "Darling, it is pure chaos on the ship, you won't believe it." He sighed, even though chaos was the base-line for the Straw Hats at any given time. "I know that Robin-chwan will keep it elegant as usual. She bought a beautiful black dress with long batwing sleeves. It is just gorgeous!" he swoons, just thinking about that exquisite choice. "Nami-san is still thinking her options through, but the last time we spoke she was leaning towards going as a witch. Of course, our moronic Swordsman had to comment that wasn't really a costume then, so I kicked his head in for his rudeness," Sanji grumbled, because Zoro never learns to shut his damn mouth. Rubbing his temples, Sanji tries to think what the others had planned or been talking about. There has been a lot of back and forth, especially with the younger crew members. "Uh, Usopp is keeping his a secret, but I saw him working on some kind of cape and mask, so I guess he is going as a superhero or something along those lines. Chopper got me to buy the biggest pumpkin to hollow out and wear as a hat, I'm not really sure that's such a good idea, but I have a feeling he just wants me to make a pumpkin pie for him." Sanji can't help but chuckle, always endeared towards their little doctor. He has been planning to make lots of sweets and pies for that day anyway, but wouldn't dare to cross Chopper's thought-out plan, by making all his effort be in vain. Let him think that his genius has brought them a delicious pumpkin pie. "Luffy-, urgh," he groans. "I don't know what Luffy is up to and at this point I am scared to ask. Franky also changes plans every few minutes and every single time his ideas become more outrageous somehow, but he keeps telling us that it's gonna be suuuuper." "Zoro and Jinbe haven't really participated, but they might get drawn into it all by Luffy anyway. Nami might make Zoro wear something to fit in. The lucky bastard doesn't deserve to be catered to like that by her when he doesn't even put in any effort by himself!" Zoro is usually easy to persuade. He just wants Nami to stop nagging him and mostly goes along with whatever for these types of parties and other occasions just to make Luffy happy, but he doesn't really care much about dressing up. Go figure, the guy doesn't even put much thought into his usual outfit. "Brook is struggling with finding something that suits him but Luffy told him to go as a ghost and he seemed to be very enthusiastic about that idea for some reason, saying it's brilliant..."
