genuinely they have probably saved people.
they HAVE saved people actually i’m 100% sure of that. i’ve learned about so many recalls i would’ve had no idea about otherwise !!!! from the bottom of all of our hearts thank you mamoru
aw shucks, thank YOU! what a pick me up!
when I was younger, I got food poisoning. I was supposed to recover from it, but I wound up with a bunch of nasty medical conditions instead. I never imagined I would become disabled from food.
so I am really glad I have been able to help spread the word every now and then about food safety and recalls, since it hopefully means a few less people going through what I have.
while I have your attention, I do not post every recall, even just for the US, so here are a few of the links I use!
recalls.gov/recent.html <- aggregate of official government recall links for the US! food, drugs, products, child safety seats, motor vehicles, and tires! (half the feeds are broken half the time, but hey, it works™! check the FDA enforcement reports for a more complete list of recalls, especially drug recalls!)
recalls for canada <- recalls for canada!
RASFF <- food recalls and safety alerts for the EU!
food safety news <- news about food safety in the US, canada, and around the world!
I was poisoned <- see where people have gotten food poisoning near you, and report your own! (worldwide!)
thanks for reading, stay safe and take care!
i am massively overdue for a very very good week where not a single bad thing happens and everything is easy
reblog to give prev a very good week where not a single bad thing happens and everything is easy
its devastating when someone, in good faith, draw a trans woman who looks like me: tall, scruffy facial hair, wide shoulders, far apart boobs, big nose and then the trans community dog piles them in the comments saying its evil to depict such a negative stereotype like that.
like actually fuck off fuck off fuck off FUCK OFF FUCK OFF!!!!! and then theyll fight me when i reply with my pov! like christ lets all just chill the math out please for the christ of love
im sick of this shit.
pull urself together and learn how to talk about women without getting distracted by how much u want to fuck them. grow up or get the fuck out, creep.
One of the guys I worked with told us a story about how, when they were doing archaeology surveys in the woods they ran into a bigfoot hunter. Bigfoot guy asked if they had seen signs of bigfoot, and he was like "Sorry, nothing like that. We're archaeologists, so we're looking for human stuff." and the bigfoot guy was like "Oh! I saw some Native American cairns on my way out here. I can give you a general location." and when he was like "Yeah dude, that'd be sick. We're actually looking to document those." the bigfoot guy was like "Yeah, they looked pretty cool. I didn't touch them though, because Native Americans built them, not bigfoot."
I have a friend who used to work in collections for the National Park Service and they have all kinds of "bigfoot" samples because if you conduct a survey on federal land you have to submit whatever you collect. Anyways check out the North American Wood Ape Conservancy.

rating based on what is letters.
If you come across anyone who starts off with "Scientists don't want you to know..." you need to understand that they're lying. They're completely full of shit and working a grift.
Because they've never met or spoke with a scientist.
Scientists WANT YOU TO KNOW. Scientists want you to know SO MUCH. Scientists would be THRILLED to teach you EVERYTHING they know in EXPLICIT DETAIL. Scientists LOVE to share information and their findings and their theories. They don't want to hide anything, ever. They are SO HAPPY to share.
My fav version of poll song #854 tbh

My therapist, who specializes in adults with ADHD, recently told me that all of her clients need a three day crashout period after a big life change. Finish the semester? Crashout. Change jobs? Crashout. Go on a really cool, really relaxing vacation? Crashout the moment you get home.
It's true of literally all of her clients. She works with a lot of them to put systems in place so that their crashouts are only three days. This includes the high-powered execs who travel regularly for work. It does not matter how successful or high functioning they are - they have ADHD, and a crashout is just part of the process of living with it.
I'm sharing this with all you ADHD friends out there, just in case you (like me) start shaming yourself if your crashout lasts more than one day. It turns out three days is kind of the best case scenario. Be kind to yourselves!
Love when you try to take a screenshot but fuck up the timing of the volume down lock button combo and are left sitting there with slightly softer music and a black screen and you just have to sit there looking at your reflection on the locked phone and contemplate your failure for a bit

Happy senator death day (not the one i was expecting)
you've heard of "quiet quitting," now I'd like to introduce you to the next level, The French Work Ethic:
Do exactly what you're paid for and nothing more
Absolutely refuse to be available to contact when you're off the clock
Never prioritize work over your own health, wellbeing, or family because that would be insane, it's just a job.
Have a little glass of wine
Take as long as you feel like for lunch
Deeply understand that work doesn't matter
Make sure your boss your boss knows they're always your second priority ❤️
🗣️ Hey, young Americans:
Old Millennial American speaking here. I need you to adopt this mentality as early as possible and hold to it. The older you get, the harder it is to begin this practice and claw back the extremely unhealthy effects of a workaholic lifestyle. I am speaking from 20 years of experience.
This does not mean having a shitty attitude at work, or not doing your job, or relying on co-workers to carry your water.
This means you do what it says above. It also means not making work and productively your entire personality; not tying your productivity to your value; and not becoming so emotionally enmeshed in your work and workplace so that you are living and dying by what happens there.
Good luck out there. American workplace culture is mostly designed to work you to death. Moving against that tide can be challenging, so having a healthy mindset is important to living a life not consumed by your paid labor.
It's never too late to escape from the secret underground government facility you were raised and go on a telekinetic rampage across the city before mysteriously disappearing into the woods
okay actually shout out to the one person who tagged this post Mewtwo, everyone else can go home

Love that you’re making it clear exactly what physical demands this job has, but could you possibly, potentially, phrase it differently?
Hey everyone, just wanted to shout out to let you know that the Federal Trade Commission is currently collecting comments regarding ideological bias in AI in order to try start the process of drafting regulations. Given the current administration, this seems like a pretty transparent attempt to try to force AI companies to adhere to their own ideological biases.
Now, I can't tell you that you should, for example, leave a comment about your concern for the way Grok has been promoting white nationalist beliefs, but public comments in the regulatory process are a key step and they shape what comes next. If the regulatory agency doesn't fully consider the comments and form a reasonable response to the ones it disagrees with, that can form the basis for overturning a regulation in court.
Anyways, here's the site where you can leave comments that will shape this regulation, the deadline is July 31st.
