An older painting I never got around to posting. I've always really enjoyed painting golden hour lighting especially on grey or white horses.

There's more of my work here πππ»
Vet came yesterday afternoon and dug around for an abscess. She followed a tract fom a crack in Bom's hoof as far as she was willing to follow it. Bom wasn't too happy about it, I took that as a good sign since last time when they dug around she didn't really care. Nothing came out but she poulticed it and gave her some IV bute and said to give her a couple days and see if it drains. Well this morning Bom was walking 10x better! The vet said to leave the poultice on for a couple days but since she's so improved I'm thinkings the abscess has probably burst and wondering if I should change it this afternoon? If it's draining I don't want to trap the gunk in there.

A little sub-herd.
Fat Horse No. 20
Itβs the year of the horse and Iβve always been a horse girl at heart, so Iβm finally taking advantage of the excuse to fill the world with fat little horses! These felted friends are about the size (and shape!) of an apple, and if you happen to have any apples to share Iβm sure theyβd help you out! You know I had to make a pigeon once I decided to do a pegasus. The chest features Angelina sparkle fiber for that flash of iridescence!
This piece is SOLD but Iβm already hard at work on a herd of new ones for Furrydelphia, August 7-9th!
Ended up calling the vet. Last time she was this lame for almost 3 weeks and then suddenly got better over a couple days. No sign of burst abscess or anything. Hoping this time maybe it is an abscess and can be relieved quickly or at the very least we can get some sort of answer :/

It's so crazy that a horse can be >20 hh and a human can be nowhere near close to that, and the horse will dutifully follow the human around

Bom is dead lame again, same foot as last time π« We never found out what caused it last time, she was hopping lame for weeks with no improvement and then it just suddenly got better.
Gave her bute and locked her up this morning, she was a lot better by the afternoon. Good to see some improvement, last time she was hopping lame even with bute 2x a day. I'll see how she is in the morning but hopefully I can avoid another vet bill.

Dallas was in my paddock again this morning, mum said Star was the most anxious and unsettled she'd ever seen him. Didn't eat any of his breakfast, just a complete nervous wreck. Dangerous to himself, dangerous to handle. She called the vet so we could maybe get some meds to help calm him but never heard back from them π€·ββοΈ It's just been days of stress piled on stress and he's reached his absolute limit. He was still very unsettled when I saw him this afternoon but thankfully after eating some dinner he calmed down quite a bit. Definitely still a little on edge but the best he's been in days.
Leo was locked in the round yard overnight(and I'm hoping he is again tonight because if he's in my paddock in the morning I stg...) so he wasn't an issue and Dallas has since been moved to another paddock so hopefully this is all over and Star can finally have a chance to relax.
A couple days of peace and he's back to his normal self, thank god. Hopefully the pesky two year olds stay where they are supposed to.
