he  wasn't  angel,  no  dark  defender,  and  he  knew  this.  he  was  just   —   doyle.  he  wasn't  noble  or  heroic  or  mysterious.  he  was  just...  doyle.  but,  he'd  be  damned  if  he  ever  let  @bl3dchaos  get  into  any  kind  of  danger  or  get  hurt  if  he  could  do  something  about  it.  he  would  do  it  all  over  again,  saving  her  from  that  vampire  when  her  wimpy  date  fled  the  scene  in  his  fancy  car  and  shiny  shoes.  he  didn't  have  a  fancy  car  or  shiny  shoes,  but  he  did  have  the  decency  and  courage  to  help  a  woman  when  she  was  in  trouble.  when  they  got  back  to  the  office,  he  insisted  to  cordelia  that  he  was  going  to  be  just  fine,  but  she  was  persistent  in  her  need  to  patch  him  up.  he  did  manage  to  get  a  good  scrape  across  his  hairline,  bleeding  a  bit,  and  it  was  throbbing.  who  was  he  to  ever  say  no  to  cordelia?  ❛  careful,  now,  i  might  have  some  sort  of  concussion...  ❜  he  told  her  as  she  dabbed  a  small  cotton  ball  with  disinfectant,  but  a  teasing  smirk  danced  on  his  lips  as  he  gazed  into  her  eyes.  ❛  m'  alright,  y'know,  ❜  he  reassured  her,  nodding  a  bit.  ❛  are  you  alright  is  my  concern...  ❜

there  were  some  things  in  life  cordelia  chase  was  certain  of..      the  first  and  most  important?      —      her  inevitable  stardom.  everybody  would  know  her  name  soon  enough,  just  wait  and  see.  the  rest,  however,  were  a  collection  of  absolutes:      double  denim  never  works,  diamonds  look  good  on  anyone  and  vampires  really  had  to  learn  to  leave  their  original  eras  behind  if  they  were  gonna  live  forever.  soulless  immortality  was  no  excuse  for  bad  fashion.  the  only  thing      (  or  rather,  person  )      she  didn't  have  completely  figured  out  was  him.  whenever  she  thought  she  did,  doyle  always  found  another  way  to  surprise  her.
