I find the whole "bisexuals are promiscuous" stereotype to be very odd, not just because I'm personally hyper-monogamous, but because the two things seem totally unrelated to me.
It's as if somebody said "do you like tea or coffee?" and I said "both" and they were like "ohhhh, you must have a lot of sugar in your diet, be careful of your teeth" 🧐
between “twink isn’t a body type” and “camp is like having bad taste” and even “femme has never been used outside of lesbian bars (which didn’t allow bi women)” and “neopronouns were created 10 years ago” i’m starting to suspect some of you don’t actually know gay culture and are just half assedly speedrunning being a gay elder for clout
Whether you believe bisexuality was inclusive of nonbinary people in the 1960s, or whatever the latest debate is, the fact is that the bi community has spent the majority of the last decade trying to make it clear that bisexual means or should mean much more than just “attraction to men and women”, and there has been very, very little push back from within the bi community. The general consensus is that the word “bisexual” should be infinitely broad and inclusive, no matter what the etymological root is. Bisexuals do not want “bisexual” to be limited.
The only people desperately trying to reinforce the idea that “bisexual means 2 genders” are people who do not identify as bisexual.

This was the funniest hour of my life
At the end of the panel we gave them a round of applause for being so brave in trying to write straights and cisgenders
Especially Jasika, who got very emotional about her childhood with straight parents
types of comments on this post:
-straight people saying :/ love is love :/ gay or straight why does it matter ://///
-gay people saying wait no really i’ve never written a non-lesbian pls help
-people pointing out that even straight people don’t know how to write straight people without unnecessary romance
the truly impressive part of this panel was how for an hour, a FULL hour, they talked about writing straight characters like the st8s talk about writing queer characters and they did. not. break. It was the most amazing piece of improv comedy i’ve ever seen.

Bisexual subtext is nice but do you know what’s better? Explicitly bi characters.
I am bi.
When I first figured it out, I thought it had to be 50/50 and felt bad for not liking more women.
But sometimes it’s not 50/50, more like 40/10, or even 20/30. And that’s okay.
I am genderfluid.
At first I thought that I was trans, for a long while. But then I noticed how my preferences fluctuated, and I realized that my application to the binaries was not set in stone.
It was hard to admit this, especially since I had told some of my friends that I was.
But in the end everything turned out all right.
Bottom line is: Your sexuality is valid no matter how much attraction you feel, and it’s all right to change your identity.
I needed to tell myself these things, and I figured that some of you may as well. Please excuse the horrible wording of this post.

You should never feel like you have to change your sexual orientation. I knew I was bi since like elementary school and yeah the word pansexual wasn’t accessible back then but the word Bisexual was, and still is, a big deal to me.
A girl I kissed in elementary school changed from bisexual to pansexual and I bought her a pansexual flag. I respect and love her sexuality
I’d hate to believe people believe bisexuals are transphobic, because 1.) Most trans people are on a binary scale 2.) That’s a gender so they still fall into the definition of what bisexual means and stands for and 3.) Nonbinary people don’t change the bisexual definition either.
I understand wanting to use pansexual as a label and that’s fine. But for all the bisexuals you’re not transphobic and this is something that needs to be talked about more. Because I would date a trans person as a bisexual 🤷🏾♀️

sO this was my first post ever to pass 1k notes on here and honestly 3 years later its message is still a thing that we need to remind some people of . . I’ve been experimenting with my new ipad and procreate for the past 2 days and I am so in love with the interface and everything, so worth the money

Happy Bi+ Awareness Week!
freddie mercury saying ‘I think I’m bisexual’ and his fiancée immediately answering with ‘You’re gay’ is literally the epitome of the bisexual experience tho, I almost screamed in the cinema when that scene happened
