llangelynnin old church; one of my favourite places. it's the remotest church in wales (nearly 1000ft above the village below), built in the 12th century. there's an ancient healing well (6th century, last photo) in the churchyard. locals used to bring their sick up here, and throw their children's' clothes in: if the clothes floated, they'd be well, but if they sank then it signalled illness and death. i fell into this well on my 6th birthday. i remember not feeling the bottom, though it's only about 2-3ft deep.
