Pronouns vary, but primarily we use it/she/they. If you use crow/crows or xe/xem you are cool af. Gender is useless and we don't identify with any labels, but non-binary transfemme is how we use. Sexuality is pretty much Pansexual, and Poly is cool in our book, but we are Ambi.
As you can see by our use of plural terms, we are a System! Our primary alters who run this blog are Alula and Magpie (I am Alula). Note that while we are fictives, we aren't related in source to the Oneshot Characters. Our host just fragmented during a Oneshot phase.

Firstly, I am NOT aroacespec in anyway. I am pan with a side of fries, so I could be wrong. If you are on that spectrum lmk if I get things mixed up!
I wanted to make this because I keep seeing a theme of Berdly being aroace. I honestly don't 100% believe it, but I don't dislike it either.
It could be because many of the people within the UTDR fandom being arospec or acespec in general.
Personally, I more subscribe to Berdly being demi/greyromantic instead of fully aroace. His personality makes it ten times harder to figure out his actual feelings, because my god is this bluebird having at least 10 layers of cringe. I, however feel like this is more representative of him.
Berdly seems to misunderstand romantic feelings, but he can recognize when he is wrong. I honestly think that for Noelle and Susie he was misunderstanding the boundary between platonic and romantic. He's a good friend for Noelle when not being cringe smug chud, which means he has some understanding of his platonic friendship with her.
And then theres Kris, and this is what makes me think he isn't 100% aroace. He sends them romantic fucking poems every february, he actually gets shocked when Kris accepts going out with him, and he has that friendship component of Noelle, with more active romantic interest than her.
I don't think he would have romantic attraction outside of Kris in the main storyline. I honestly think he has a form of Autism that makes social interaction very confusing, and maybe a slight pinch of BPD/HPD.
I will say, that I do hc him as greyromantic instead of being alloromantic. I don't think he would be the type of guy to go up to someone random and be like "hey bb girl"
tldr: I believe berdly is greyromantic, but I support the aroace theory.
Recently, there has been some controversy regarding Ralsei being maybe trans in UTDR spaces. I thought I should share my thoughts (as someone who isn't a fan of gender labels).
Firstly, Ralsei and Berdly are more similar than you think, dont click off let me explain!
They are both Nerds, they are both heavily repressed individuals socially, both are at the extremes of social communication (Ralsei being a pleaser, while Berdly is very closed off) and both are trying to find out who they are.
Sure, there are certainly differences between the two, but this feels very... interesting to see.
The main focus is on sexual orientation and gender identity, so lets focus on that
Ralsei - He never got the chance to fully explore literally anything relating to life, having to constantly prepare for a prophecy that was eventually going to be broken anyway. Once he got a taste of freedom from Kris and Susie, he explores social interaction in a way, and finally develops likes and dislikes beyond what is "socially acceptable". In chapter 5, he basically deals with confronting his own gender, something that makes him play dress up as a princess, and makes him feel happy when Flowery called him a princess. Maybe he is angry at Flowery because he is jealous of them?
Berdly - That damn spelling bee, combined with the lack of parental guidance in his life, led him to equate intelligence = good person. He has a character glow up in chapter 2 after being utterly humiliated, something that despite him considering it a dream still made his views on Susie and Kris soften. His views of romance are based off of what he sees with others, which gives him a very distorted view of romantic relationships. In chapter 5, he also gets embarrassed again, but takes it surprisingly well, even endorsing Noelle for queen. Also he has so much egg coded behavior, like who genuinely would build a statue with 24 abs and get excited over nipples.
Both are in their own ways dealing with a bunch of bullcrap. Ralsei seems to give me the idea that she (yes, she, idc if you dislike me using she/her for ralsei and i will block you if you yell at me for it) may be transfem, with maybe some sexual orientation stuff thrown in. Maybe she is also aroace
As for Berdly? he's definitely pansexual, considering his attempt at making this weird as fuck gender inclusive polycule. I don't believe he is aroace like others say, but grayromantic/demiromantic feels right to be used. As for gender? I honestly feel like he might go down one of three pathways
1: stays the same nerd guy, but less intense without the chronically online stuff
2: Agender/genderneutural like Kris. I can especially see this, considering his autism coded behavior (and alot of my autistic friends and moi being non-binary)
3: transfem egg, or transmasc (which sorta translates to number 1)

Berdly directly referencing a core gameplay mechanic of the secret boss of chapter 5 and referring to Kris by the same nickname Queen used while also behaving incredibly similar to how Queen behaved way back in chapter 2 (truce with Kris, venting to them while not knowing Noelle is right there, baking green sopor looking pies, sharing leitmotifs across songs, hiding the fact they know Noelle is strong but still wanting to use that strength for her sake as well) and being controlled by her wires you have to free him from in the same chapter that features a guy dressed likes he's from the matrix who also references the chapter 2 secret boss who's fought on the same roller coaster background and is spared in the same way by snapping the wires while also having the same dialog upon violent defeat and also connected to the chapter 5 boss indirectly alluded to by the aforementioned matrix guy who also is fought on a cityscape background and has those green strings and berdly being the only character that doesn't get the Lost Girl leitmotif and the only character you can't select as Queen (because why would you haha he's not a lost girl hes not a candidate for Queen haha) and the one who constantly gets pushed aside or forgotten in and out of universe and has the romantic subplot that was a paper thin cover for identity issues 'solved' in the same chapter we get a nerd who worships him who also just so happens to be referred to as king or queen and unused dialog refers to themselves as something "cool as a bluebird that a bluebird would also find cool" along with the secret boss catgirl who has a dating sim that turns into a breakdown of her perception of her body and identity and along with a floradinn asking for a hot gamer boyfriend or girlfriend in the same chapter we learn there was a dark world in the computer class way back in the past when Dess disappeared which may just so happen to connect to the neo vessel in the basement below Queen’s mansion which just so happens to look like an abandoned city covered in green vines and we still don't have know who made NEO and we still don't know what was in Berdly's room that suprised Kris.
Haha yeah sure it could mean nothing I mean come on The Matrix is just a cool movey with some fun imagery Toby decided to allude to that could mean anything :)
Berdly is the definition of a flawed character, ruined by a fandom with concerningly low levels of media literacy. Sure, he was originally a comic relief character, but the longer the game goes on the more interesting he gets.
Remember when Queen said "He isn't terrible, he's just annoying?"
That's pretty much Berdly as a whole. He is very annoying even to me, a deticated Berdly supporter, but he has moments where he seems very reliable. He stands up to fight the queen, abiet with some convincing and losing puzzles, he softens slowly towards susie in the story, and he fucking supports Noelle and Susie getting together, and actively ENDORSES Kris when the player chooses him and Noelle as king and queen respectively. Dude fucking SACRIFICED himself to attempt to help Noelle in the weird route (which considering what happened, honestly don't blame him)
But no, there is so much focus on him being a horrible person based on… something. Nobody ever really gives a clear answer, and some of the things said can be disproven or are flat out horrid (Saw someone say he is a eugenics supporter… WHAT). It genuinely hurts because as someone who was a Berdly growing up, we see ourselves in him! He is just the nerdy form of Susie, and look what happened to her!
Also, in terms of people's perceptions of shipping, Kerdly isn't as farfetched anymore. Susie and Noelle are a couple (and susie loves cockblocking Kris but SHHHHH) and Kris already has a decent relationship with Berdly as friends, so it isn't out of the realm of possibility that romantic feelings can be formed. Kris seems to have something towards the Bluebird, if the feather scene in Chapter 5 and how they don't refuse the player from picking Berdly as the festival date choice, so Kris obviously tolerates him.
By the consideration of canon, the most likely scenarios are one of two things
Suselle and Kerdly are basically going to happen
Kris or Berdly (or maybe both!) get closer, but not romantically involved. This also can happen if either of them is aromantic.
Piping hot take to kick off this disability pride month, but being a system is a disability and a disorder. It disorders you and fucks you over. It disables you. You cannot be a system and non-disordered, you can only work to minimize how badly it does disorder and disables you. Happy Disability Pride month and don't let the posers get you down this month
Na but seriously this is super accurate. It hurts when people try to claim it because it leads to actual systems not being able to seek treatment.
We got rejected for a diagnosis on multiple occasions for different reasons. "Its apart of your autism" or the worse one "you have to be 22 to be diagnosed" and it hurt.
Oh yeah: we also fragmented trying to get a diagnosis.
Please understand that there are a plethora of disabilities out there, and trying to act like one is pretty offensive. You wouldn't fake cancer, so why fake something horrid like DID?
Being asexual and racist is embarassing as fuck. Being racist at all is obviously embarassing as fuck but the amount of racism and especially antiblackness i have been seeing from asexuals recently is obscene.
One of the only asexual activists is Yasmin Benoit, a Black woman. She has raised so much awareness for the community. She was the first asexual person to lead Pride in London, she started the #thisiswhatasexuallookslike movement and is THE leading voice for the community.
And you all will celebrate international asexuality day on April 6th but we wouldn't even have that if she hadn't cofounded it.

I recently had a anxiety attack at my college during a biology lab. I couldn't communicate, all the microscopes weren't working, and I had a whole bunch of trauma pop up. My professor (who is a FUCKING SAINT and is NOT the target here) called campus response so I can get help
So who did they send? fully armed police officers.
BTW I once attempted back in 2023, and had my cities police point shotguns and pistols at me. They still do police response for mental health crises btw.
Thank fuck the officer who was there was nice and affirming of my gender, otherwise I might have gotten worse.
Cities, for the love of GOD invest in crisis response teams.
