I don't know if this is a popular or unpopular thought, but I'm kinda glad asgore tv didn't end up being a character.

I liked the fan desings but I kinda disliked the idea that it was the dremmurs previous tv that tenna replaced cos a) I know people would not have been normal about it and b) I think that if that was the case we would have gotten more info on that, like you know any character mentioning it.

I feel like it only over complicated things without adding more to the story.

#I saw a lot of people saying it would add a lot to tennas character cos he wouldn't be “complety inocent” and make him more gray #but I'm still thinking how the fuck it would be tennas fault if the dremmurs bought him as a replacement for other tv #I know a lot of people interpret tennas arrival to tv world as “colonianism” but even I think that's a streach cos you know shuttah itself #says there was nothing there #idk #deltarune #i talk sometimes #tenna

lucarios with cloudy eyes and grey muzzles. venusaurs whose flowers and leaves are drooping and losing color. pidgeotto that can't quite preen its long head feathers anymore and has beak problems. houndooom with hip dysplasia that can't go up stairs anymore and has a little ramp instead. a slightly matted persian that curls up by the fire all day, and has to have its kidney medication in very wet food because its teeth aren't good anymore.

i don't always but still occasionally come across the notion that tenna needs to "face consequences" for his flaws and particularly his actions in chapter 3, and they're always sort of funny and also sad to me because. like. he already does? even within the chapter itself no less

he pushes the contract with spamton despite being warned about consequences -> spamton runs away forever, mike disappears, both leaving tenna tormented with guilt for years without even getting to learn any of the "modern" technology and information he was desperate for

his contracts are shady and he holds them over his workers' heads to try and keep them around -> you shred them all which causes everyone to immediately join your side and abandon him to his fate while he futilely begs them for their help, including his closest friends. these contracts are also shown to barely matter anyway because they will leave him regardless of if you recruit them or are nice to them or not

he kidnaps toriel and keeps her locked up in an empty part of the studio -> he was threatened into doing this but let's just pretend for a second he wasn't and did it because he wanted to. this leads to the kids finding out and turning against him, pushing him into a horrible ptsd-riddled meltdown that caused everyone to start abandoning him, and as soon as he tries to give it up he gets killed by his supposed benefactor in one of the most brutal deaths in the entire utdr series

like. i dont know. some ppl want him to face consequences for his actions so bad as if he wasn't already experiencing them through the entire back half of ch 3. and we also clearly see that it doesn't make him better or have some kind of revelation about morality, it just makes him panic and break down further until he's barely coherent. like i think he's had enough from everything

#now that I notice #tenna recives natural consecuences for his actions #but I don't think people think of them as actual consecuence #that's why they want to artificially add to it
