Hate has caused a lot of problems...but it hasn't solved one yet

The brisk sunset had turned into a dark blue, and the once bustling city was finally beginning to quiet down.

In the settling night, Leo and April continues to ride the shell hog in every nook and cranny of the eastern sector of New York, searching for any trace of their missing brother.

They were just about to quit for the night. It was getting late, and they'd searched pretty much everywhere that they could.

Leo, we've been looking for HOURS. He's definitely not in this sector. We should head back to the layer. If the others haven't found him yet, we'll regroup and spread out again tomorrow.

Leo sighed and slowly nodded his head. He began to make a stop to the nearest sewer lid, when he quickly and randomly made a sharp U turn, almost causing April to fly off.

CHEESE, LEO! WHAT THE HECK!?!?!?

I think that I know where Donnie is!

Really!?! How!?!? And why didn't you go there earlier!?!?

I....I dunno! Just a feeling I have!

Leo's face went from tired and worried to furious and alive as he pushed harder in the gas. April couldn't help but notice a faint violet glow in his eyes.

That's kinda weird....its like he's being led....intetesting!

Leo continued to drive at a psychotic, high speed until he reached an old, abandoned warehouse, that had boards coming off from around the windows that they covered and peeling paint that had been smudged with dirt crawling up the walls.

This is where Donnie is?

Without a doubt. Come on!

Leo hopped off of the shell hog and started sprinting towards the building, picking up two sticks along the way and spinning them around in his hands, until they started to glow bright blue and transform into twin katana blades. April shrugged and dug around in her backpack until she found her baseball bat(which she had somehow managed to shove in there) and cellphone. She texted Sunita and Cassandra and gave them a quick update.

Leo sais that hes found Don!

Really? Where?

It's about time!

April gave them the address and ran off after Leo, who was impatiently tapping his foot at the entrance of the building. They used their weapons to violently beat on the door until it opened......or fell with an extremely loud crash due to it being pounded a little too hard.

Way to be stealthy, April!

Hey, beating on it like a gorilla was YOUR idea!

They crept silently into the building and looked around. It was dark, with discarded junk scattered everywhere, causing either April or Leo to fall flat on their faces whenever they tried to walk every 30 and a half seconds. April grabbed her bag and dug around for a flashlight.

Aw, cmon! I know I have one around here somewhere!

Mabey your pet hyena ate it.

Shut up, dude.

April grabbed a hold of her flashlight and was just about to turn it on.....

.....when they heard a sound.

A horrible sound.

An eerie, blood curdling l, pain induced sound.

A sound only the darkest of nightmares could ever contain.

It was a scream.

Leo and April looked up in terror, doing everything that they could to keep from screaming themselves.

Oh my gosh.....what in the heck was that!??!?

April scooted behind Leo a bit, readying her bat in case anyone crept up behind them. She noticed Leo shaking a bit.

Um....Leo? You ok?

As much as Leo wanted to deny any frightened felling of any kind, he couldn't stop his hands from shaking. He knew who that scream belonged to all to well.

That was Donnie.... APRIL THAT WAS DONNIE!!!!

Leo started running across the room, shoving anything in his way to the side with his swords, and April followed on his heels.

They ran through every door them came across, breaking and busting everything in their path. Once that level had been searched clear, they found a stairway and started ravenously searching every floor in the building.

Flight after flight they ascended.....all of the rooms were clear of anything.

I-I don't understand! He has to be here! I heard him! YOU heard him!

Leo started pacing around anxiously, waving his swords back and forth.

Mabey.... mabey this building has a basement! Can you make a portal to there?

I have to be able to envision where the portal goes, and I don't know what the basement looks like.

Oh. Welp, mabey this place has a hidden elevator or a secret staircase!

April and Leo put their 'expert at finding secret entries' skills to work and searched everywhere for a hidden door...... And eventually found the staircase to the basement in a closet. They tumbled down the stairs (which their seemed to be a surprising amount of, by the way) and landed flat on their faces, not far from two large doors, with a little doorway to the side of it that looked like it led to a higher level. From under the large doors came a faint yellow light, slowly growing and enveloping the floor in front of them.

Do you think that he's in there?

April asked, slowly getting to her feet.

Leo nodded and started to approach the doors. He and April slammed into them and pushed hard, causing them to fly open. They both let out a terrified gasp at what was on the other side.

The room was dark, exept for a large bundle of chords that were hanging from the ceiling, which glowed a bright yellow. And at the bottom of where all those chords hung, was a small, limp body, stuck on all of them and left hanging there.

And the closet that they looked, the more they could make out the form of that limp, little body.

It was Donnie.

Leo ran over to his brother and pulled out his sword.

Hang on, Donnie!

He cut at the chords until every single one of them had been detached from his brother. Don fell onto the floor, twitching and whimpering like he was or was about to start having a seizure.

Donnie! Donnie, are you ok!?! Say something!!!!

Donnie slowly moved his head up to Leo, who had now picked him up and was holding him close. He leaned his head against Leo's plastron, tears starting to slowly run down his face. Leo looked down and let his tense face soften a bit.

Donnie! What happened? Who did this to you!?!?

April cut in, holding Donnie's head in her hands. His head felt surprisingly cold, and he seemed to be shivering and twitching quite a bit. Donnie winced at April's touch and dug his head back into Leo's plastron. April pulled her hand away and looked up at Leo. Leo sat down for a moment and narrowed Donnie's head towards himself.

Donnie, who did this to you?

Donnie very, very slowly fluttered open his eyelids and looked at Leo. That's when Leo noticed his eyes.

Where there had once been white was now pure black, and where his pupils had been was a hexagon, with three lines coming out of it, and triangles at the ends of those points, glowing bright yellow. April stuck her hand over her mouth as a mortified look grew on her face. Leo's eyes went wide at the sight, and he tried to keep the choking out of his voice as he asked Donnie one more time;

Who did this to you!??????!?!?

Donnies eyes met Leo's as he tried his best to fight the pain all over him and try to speak.

P-p-pu-pur-pur

Every word he was trying to speak seemed to be glitching ....like a computer would, or a phone when you dumped water on sirri. Donnie swallowed hard and tried again.

Pur-pur-purp- purrrrrr

Pur? Like purple?

U-hu....

Ok, you did this to yourself?

Leo was cut off by the two doors flying open violently. Leo and April turned around shocked, Leo holding Donnie as close as he could.

At the entrance stood Kendra, Jase, and Jeremy, all looking horrifiedly at the 3 teenagers on the floor.
