okay it took FOREVER and was way more difficult than i had anticipated but here’s customized and plushyified(sp?) Cool Ranch!! he isn’t done, he has earrings coming in the mail, but…for my first custom it could be worse i guess? my greatest struggle was the acrylic paint markers. i’ve never worked with acrylics and you can tell 😭😭 any advice on how to maybe fix some of his paint would be appreciated! the beak especially i feel like looks pretty bad :( the eyechips are from foolclowns on Tumblr, i will link the post in the replies

When painting with acrylics, water down the paint and paint in thin layers. Ive done that for every Furby I've painted and it looks pretty good in my opinion. Also, seal the paint once you're done.

That's what I did with the eylids and beak on Sunset down here ↓

These results are some of my best tbh. I even chose paint brushes that weren't as 'harsh' - like, brushes that didn't leave much obvious brush-strokes.

I took apart the whole Furby and painted each piece individually, including the tongue (which you can't really see here), and waited for each thin layer to dry before starting the next one. After a few layers I would seal it (I used a spray sealant outside w/proper mask protection), then go back to painting once the sealant had set.

Using thin layers also prevents any potential chipping from the moving parts rubbing against each other
